If it wasn t for parallax I don t know if I would ve been strong enough to do this recovery thing on my own.

Outstanding. Great staff, I mean great staff. All personnel were pleasant, helpful, compassionate and good at their jobs. From receptionist, intake personnel, doctor and especially the nurses , all listened and answered your concerns. Benso detox with very slow tampering relies most withdrawal symptoms. Third time here and no complaints. I did the detox and not the aftercare program.
Would recommend to anyone wishing to stop the pain and get on a different path. If you are there for other motives, I don't know what reaction you would have,
Absolutely wonderful place, helped my cousin who struggled with addiction. He's been clean and doing well and is every bit the man he use to be instead of what he became due to addiction. I would honestly recommend this place to anyone who needs help, especially with Alcoholism.
I have had the best experience at the Parallax Center. I was there 3 years ago and relapsed. The staff is empathetic, kind and understanding. I was lucky to get Pat as my counselor. She is great. I m learning so much for her.
First of all , just like the rest of the organizations they don t care about humans and they are very judgmental . Especially the front desk staff . My suggestion is if you don t like working with people you should probably seek a job that will have no interactions with humans !! I was referred by an NYU specialist and when I called and spoke to the front desk I ve mentioned that I ve got a 9 year old daughter and that I d be more comfortable coming in the morning . And she asked me if I use anything when I walk and I said yes I do sometimes prefer to walk with a kane she than continued by saying they couldn t help me because I had a minor under my supervision at home ( I am a MOM) and because I walk with a limp . Which brings me to the main reason I m on these opioids for the last five years
I ve had polio when I was 1 years old (39 now) and lots of surgeries due to polio
In 2014 I had a spine fusion which ended up making me in much more pain because I was still limping and lost mobility
I m currently on oxycodone 10/325 mg and fentanyl 50 mg patches and want to cleans myself and seek other treatment options but this place was extremely unprofessional and judged me from the get-go . I recommend you hire people who have a bit mercy and capability of empathy, not small minded judgemental people .. I don t recommend this place to anyone at all , unless you wanna drop your courage below zero !!!!
This place literally saved my life. AGAIN. The staff is very kind and the environment is cozy. Yes you must come back daily while you detox but I would rather do that than go to the liquor store daily. You have to want the help to receive your life back. Only 3 days for a hardcore alcohol user and I feel like I am bursting at the seams with God s love. May St. John s Riverside NEVER see my face again. I recommend this place 1000% for any addict who is READY.
Hi the receptionists have attitude for no particular reason. I received a call from the nurse after my boyfriend's first visit, and I was returning the Nurse's call, which unfortunately for me, when I attempted to return the Nurse's call yesterday on Oct 1st, around 5pm, this young girl who was a receptionist from Parallax, spoke to me with intense attitude for no particular reason, and i told her how I was simply returning the Nurse's call, and this young receptionist never relayed my message to the stated nurse, but this young receptionist chose to instead show me attitude and she even hung up on me for no reason whatsoever, which was the rudest thing I witnessed from a customer service stand point and also the fact that they are a medical detox facility, which should hire individuals who enjoy their job, and if you are working as a receptionist, and don't like interacting with other people nor do you want to pick up a patient's call, why are you even working at a desk that serves patient's needs? You should go find another job where you won't have to interact with other individuals, like this facility needs to hire better individuals to work as receptionists, they're hiring rude girls with no sense of care for humanity, nor were they taught any human decency to answer calls, nor any care in the world that they just hanging up your phone , and all I did was returning the nurse's call based upon a medication dose. This place needs to rehire their staff at the front desk asap
I must say, Thank You very much to everyone for helping my Ex. He had a drinking problem and this place helped him with his problem and he was able to hold onto to his job as well. He s on his 5th month of Sobriety. It s still a process for him because he s still having trouble sleeping which is important but I know everyone is different. I told him from his experience His purpose is to help others that have been in his situation. Now, he s trying to help his brother! All you have do is Try and Never Give Up! So, pick up that phone & call them! God Bless You All
I was addicted to Oxycodone and Xanax for years! I wanted to quit but I was very afraid of withdrawals and even more afraid of leaving home to go to an inpatient detox or rehab. This place rocks. They're basically god send for people trying to kick their opiate, benzodiazepines, alchohol and many others. Their main concern is to make sure you detox comfortably. And boy do they do it well. Honestly I felt no withdrawal from over 1g heroin habit. So u dont need to be sick and scoring more. Now you just have to contain your cravings, which everyone's to their own.
But from the nurses/therapist (forgot her name)sorry. but she wear brown scrubs usually. She shows genuine compassion and want you to get sober. The therapist and the doctor are cool too. The detox period, you set your time to pick up the daily comfort meds.
Most time am and pm are avail and u are quickly seen..I went to them 3 years ago, but for some unforeseen reasons i relapsed.
But now I'm back again. And i have great faith this time is it.
This place is incompetent, they nearly almost killed me. I told them that I still was using and the shoved the pill down my throat and gave me the shot. For the next 72 hrs I was in perceptive with drawl to the max. I couldn t eat sleep I was pouring sweat. I was in screaming agony. Never again this place ruined the shot for me I will never again trust places giving the shot.
THIS IS THE BEST OUTPATIENT DETOX....BUT ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE READY & SERIOUS ABOUT GETTING CLEAN AND CAN'T GO INPATIENT. The staff is friendly and they explain step by step how the detox will go every day. They work with you and try to work around your schedule. If you relapse, they try to work with you. But if you are not really ready, don't waste your time cuz you have to go there EVERY DAY until you finish your detox. If you miss an appointment cuz you are playing games, you won't get medicated and you'll make yourself feel sick. One time I was running late from work and I called to tell them...the nurse waited for me late and even offered me a snack! They really care.
I was a heroin addict and I ve tried many different methods to kill this addiction before me killing myself with this demon. I ve tried methadone and suboxone and it just didn t work for me I was still getting sick and it was just hopeless. Great out patient clinic, its a 9 day program, you have to come in each day to get your meds, it works if you work it, thanks to them I was able to detox off of opiates.
