This is the worst company I ever had to deal with ...
This is the worst company I ever had to deal with in my life (I'm 46). I would not touch this company with a 10-foot pole, even if my life depended on it. Awfully uncaring and unprofessional people, and I dealt with quite a few of them. The company itself is an extortionist shark, so beware and read the rest of my story here.
First, they told me to come into one of their infusion centers and have my infusion administered there, but it turned out that my prior authorization as only for at-home service by a nurse. So I ended up with a denied claim for $31K for my Entyvio infusion. I had to spend countless hours on the phone with their billing department and my insurance company to even begin to understand what happened. After lots of back and forth that lasted several months, caused me huge distress and sleepless nights, I was finally able to get my appeal approved. During all of this, Paragon just repeated that I'm ultimately responsible and need to pay, they were of no help whatsoever. I finally reached their regional representative ("John") who promised to look into this and did nothing. To add insult to injury, they took a $40 copay from me and did a blood test through a vendor that was not covered by my insurance. When my appeal was finally approved, it said there was no copay ($0 from the patient), Paragon never refunded me anything. They also never bothered to look into why they did a blood test through Quest which was not covered instead of Labcorp which was. I mentioned this twice to the coordinator, and each time he asked me to send in the bill that I got and there was radio silence afterwards. I eventually paid the nearly $200 bill because I didn't want my credit to suffer.
I had several more infusions, now at home and my nurses would often cancel or reschedule at the last minute. At the end of the year, when I had to have my prior auth renewed no one reached out and no one cared to let me know. When I realized this, I asked my dr's office to switch me to the main hospital.
Now, do you think I was done with Paragon? No way... I still had the small infusion pump at home and I called Paragon myself and asked about how I can return it. They sent me a box with instructions which read that I can either package it and send it in via UPS or bring it in to their Denver Pharmacy. I checked and they were only 8 miles away so I packaged it in the box and drove. At the pharmacy, they took the pump and the power cord, and thanked me. I asked for a receipt. They were surprised! So someone signed on the ups package slip for me and said this is enough. I put down my name in their sign-in log and left. Two months later, they call me and ask for the power cord!!!! I said it was all in the box and they had it. They said they couldn't find it. I asked what I could do, I had the receipt that they got everything. They said OK and hung up. A month later I get a bill from them for $220!!!!! This is pure fraud, plain and simple. This company is insane.
