I was there in March / April 2021 and I have to say it was my first rehab. When I got there I was panicked, a completely strange environment and a lot of strange people. But after a certain time this subsided and you felt that you were in good hands.
Even during the Corona era, the hygienic standard (wearing a mask, disinfecting hands, keeping your distance, etc.) was designed so that I was not afraid of infection.
The only thing that was a shame due to Corona was that you couldn't use the swimming pool in your free time. But there were other ways to pass the time such as going for a walk in the super and beautiful landscape, watching TV in certain areas, board games, badminton, table tennis and much more.
The room you were allocated fit, so you shouldn't expect a 3 star room and for a 3-5 week rehab stay it was great.
The cleaning staff were always very friendly and hard-working.
So I did not feel that the nurses' room was never occupied. Tablets issue, blood pressure ect. had fixed times when who was always there and in between, unless there was a handover (which, by the way, was on a plan to the left of the door) or a meeting, someone was always there and if something happened you could always talk to you about it.
The food was okay, at least there was always something for everyone and if something was missing or you needed something else due to intolerance, you basically just had to inform the kitchen about it.
Let's get to the core of the whole thing, namely the forms of therapy there were on the one hand
Occupational therapy where I was very skeptical at the beginning. But then it started to be really fun, of course, the therapist contributes to a large extent.
Sports therapy was fun right from the start, because you basically got more vigor through exercise and you feel fit, and here too the therapist was great and really supported you.
Body awareness was really really great and the therapist who runs this was just great. It is very direct but also warm and always feels like it hits the point and always gave food for thought, so that basically the unconscious became conscious and one could work on it.
Individual therapy, I have to say that I was more than satisfied with the therapist I was assigned and that I opened up for the first time. The stupid thing about it is that it is only for a short time and, to be honest, I am sad that you no longer have you as an individual therapist, but that's life.
Group therapy is basically the core of it all. At the beginning you are assigned to a group and stay in it for the entire time.
I was really happy with my grp. Because we harmonized really well together and this resulted in contacts that will last far beyond rehab.
The physio team and the medical team were also great. We were always there for you and always tried to help and support you.
With regard to fellow partners, you can quickly see that the environment is completely different than in everyday life. Everyone has their problems, nobody judges you, you develop good friendships very quickly and and and. (yes there are cross-heads like everywhere else, but that is rather rare)
All in all, I can only say one thing about this, I was really happy to be there and it was really good and helped me. And I also advise every "newbie" to get involved, work with us and think about everything in peace. After the time to think you have enough and that's a good thing. Because there is no magic word or pill with which everything will be fine again, you have to recognize it yourself and work on it with a lot of patience.
P. s. Yes, the reception is really bad as far as the Internet is concerned. Which I don't think is bad, because at least one is not distracted too much from outside ;-)
