Check in:
Upon arrival, we were not met by anyone.
The checkin person was exceptionally rude and discourteous. We were not informed of any hotel facilities or restaurant timings.
Rooms:
The rooms were fairly good, comfortable and cleaned to a fairly good standard. Air conditioning however, never kept temperature. You d often wake up sweating in the night. For some reason we were given two twin beds and it took the hotel 3 nights to correct. And good luck watching tv as the content is hopeless.
Internet:
It works when it wants too. Speeds are occasionally good before it grinds to an utter halt. Most commonly, you are kicked out and have to log back in each time you touch your phone.
Hotel food:
Well it s just shocking. The whole place is geared to Asian tastes. The food lacks any sensitivity to different cultures or religions with most of the dishes either being filled with pork or shellfish (buffet). Additionally, the restaurants are extremely harsh on their hours. For example, the lunch restaurant closes at 2 pm but if you arrive at 135pm your told your too late and that s that (I actually questioned the wait staff on why the restaurant refused our entrance and they told me, the Chinese eat early your late, I did complain with little Impact. Once food is obtained, it s extremely bland (no salt no seasoning) and the quality of meats found questionable (I doubt many people would feed that food to a cat).
Swimming pool:
Three days into the vacation, and it s been virtually impossible to get into the pool, as there are always scuba diving lessons being performed.
Service:
This hotel will nickel and dime you for anything. If you would like food reheated, there is a charge. There is no sense of service or care. Almost all written text is in either, Chinese or Japanese and it s a very unwelcoming feeling, to have very little English communication.
House keeping:
Sure they will make your bed, even change your towels. But that s it. They don t change bed sheets and they certainly don t square the room away. I m not actually sure if they even use a vacuum as the same heap of sand has been in place for 3 days.
Pool or beach service:
None.
Room service:
Service discontinues at 930pm, so be quick. The menu is fairly limited and appears to mirror the offerings from the pool bar (which sucks).
Overview:
This place could be a lot more, it s the lack of effort and care that is really notable. And the clear fact, it s so geared towards the Chinese majority that it lacks any consideration for people outside of Asia and seems to bypass local culture or custom.
We have two days left and honestly and sadly, we cannot wait to get out of this place. We travel often and it s just been a horrendous experience. We have been left with no sense of care or respect.
We certainly won t be back, 5-6 days was more than enough. Go to Malaysia.
This hotel needs proper management.
