A perfect place for romantic dinner or to grab a quick pint! This service is top notch! Rooms are lovely and cosy. Dont forget they have a fabulous place to hold your next event!

After not being called to tell us the bath (and prime reason for booking the room) could not be used we were then offered our booking (which had been paid in full) to be transferred to another hotel with the difference covered as a goodwill More

One way system not appropriate stopped going out of the gatevwhich would stop having yo go through the restaurant which was full of people
Waitress didnt bring things in a timely manner and when asked if we could take food home she forgot to give us the food

We had an extremely enjoyable Sunday meal at this beautifully renovated Inn in Moulton near Newmarket, and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys excellent food, a good selection of fine wines, comfort and atmosphere, and lovely surroundings. It certainly gives you the feel that you're experiencing something special. I will be returning to sample their evening menu on Friday evening as a pre Valentine treat for my husband and I, and am very much looking forward to it. How nice to have somewhere with fine dining and equal surroundings reasonably locally, all thanks to The Packhorse! I would however add that although children are welcome, this is a very grown up restaurant! I definitely wouldn't bring noisy children who get easily bored. Perhaps keep this as a treat for the adults!

It has a lovely garden atmosphere to sit back and have a Sundowner in the late afternoon.

Lovely country hotel/restaurant/bar. Nice garden for the summer and dog friendly. Food and service were both excellent. Would definitely recommend and would return if we were in the area again.

Beautiful location and lovely, well kept building. It was great for a nice refreshing drink after an evening's walk in the countryside.

Was one of my favorite places to eat. So disappointed Sunday lunch was very poor today, roasted potatoes dry, leeks under cooked and my husband ordered chips specially which all bar 1 came undercooked and he wasn't asked why he hadn't eaten More

The food here is excellent and never fails to satisfy. Me and my partner live nowhere near it but whenever we are away from home always make sure we stop off on the way back. Todays starter and roast was exceptional and so well priced. The wines are lovely and the service is friendly, informative and not rushed. If you get the chance to go here please do....you won't be sorry!

We went today for a mother's day meal and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The service was excellent and the food absolutely fantastic. Would highly recommend a visit.

A really well run place with polite attentive professional staff. We went for Sunday Lunch and although it was very busy the food served was of a good quality and a house red delicious.
The only thing that spoilt it for us was that we were in a room with a table of 10 and it was just too noisy. I would have asked to be moved but the place was packed, shame really

Beware of the Hooray Henry's on their shooting Stag weekend down from The City Staff were lovely.
But....we were hungry and wanted to eat having not had lunch- it was 17:30 and "we don't serve food until 19:00"
Maybe get with the times on your food serving hours?
Coffee was tasty and nice service but we really wanted to eat

Lovely restaurant near the river in Moulton. Food was all perfectly cooked and tasted very fresh. I had steak, my wife had chicken, both were brilliant. Desert was even better, amazing flavour, great proportions, clearly high quality produce. Pavlova was wonderfully fresh, chocolate fondant was beautifully rich.
The best meal we have had for a while, we'll definitely be coming back.

Beautiful hotel and restaurant. Room was very clean and cosy. Owever room was very hot - fan or air con would have been good! Restaurant/bar had great choice of food and drink. Perfect for a quiet romantic weekend away.

We celebrated my granddaughter's 18th there and had a lovely evening. Good atmosphere excellent food and service. Certainly would recommend it

We visited today for my parents birthday. I had heard good things about it so we were looking forward to it. My girlfriend had the cod with a salad as she is doing slimming world she asked for the fish cooked in low fat with a salad. She made them aware that she wanted low fat. Well she asked for low fat food not no food! The fish was so small she had finished it in 5 mouthfuls before others received their condiments for their meat. The salad was just lettuce out of a bag in a small bag with oil dressing all over it!! Nothing to the salad at all. They said it was "no trouble " to do my food low fat and now I can see why, it was no trouble!!
For her starter she wanted they suggested the beetroot with goats cheese. They said they could do it without the cheese. She literally got a piece of beetroot chopped up with a few thin slices of smaller beetroot with a few very small lettuce leaves.
The food took a long time to come out. We were there from 2 until 5. The staff forgot two desserts and therefore they got them when others had finished theirs. They didn't even offer to leave them off the bill
They also got the bill completely wrong and had to amend it as they had put 2 bread and butter puddings on it and no one had this!!
We cam home and we made low fat burgers and a salad ..it wasn't that hard to make!
The meat for the roast was cooked nicely.
The fish that we had was nice just hardly anything. My girlfriend left very hungry.
Will not return obviously. They are trying to be something that they just can't be.

Only went for drinks, but a perfect place to relax in the sun in their garden.
