Owen Brennan's Restaurant Review

To much to choose from very friendly place everyone was great .great atmosphere everyone was enjoying the food .waiter and the receptionist was very friendly. Great food.

The food was average and we felt overpriced. Did not like their take on banana's foster or bread pudding. Decor is very nice and service was good.

My party was mistreated and disrespected by the owner of this restaurant! Our reservation was for 3pm December 8, 2018 party of 6 and we were not seated until 3:30. After being seated we didn t see a server until 3:45 for drink orders. Fortunately, our server was pleasant, and returned with our drinks and took our food order. We waited until 5:15 before we received our food order. The server apologized for the long wait and said that there were several parties in the resteraunt and the kitchen was backed up. As a remedy, the shift manager offered us complimentary desert. Another hour passed, and we had not received our check or dessert. After 6pm the server returned to give us our checks and we asked for the deserts to be boxed to go. Moments later, the owner, Jim Baker, comes to our table and says that he noticed that we had been seated in the restaurant for more than 2 hours. We thought that he was coming to apologize for the delay of the food and services that had been provided by the restaurant. Instead, he had the gall to tell us that there were more patrons that needed to be seated and that we NEEDED TO LEAVE. We couldn t be believe that he would treat us in this manner. Our evening was actually side tracked because we were in the restaurant much longer than was ever expected. Jim Baker, owner of Owen Brennan s, the next time you feel the need to speak to paying patrons in this manner.... DON T! Just, be a better planner and have the adequate staffing to accommodate your restaurant. That way you can avoid giving your rude, condescending comments to your patrons.

Very Unhappy

I love New Orleans food and this was the first time we have eaten at Owen Brennan's in Memphis. My wife and I had been to the doctor for a checkup on my hip and when we got out, I wanted to eat. We grabbed lunch there and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will be coming back.

Food was good, they are currently boycotting the NFL football.

The food is always good, and it seems like I see someone I know every time I go.

Phenomenal brunch on Sunday! Take a few minutes and chat with chef Shorty as he prepares your omelette. Oh! Bread pudding with Bananas Foster sauce. Yum!

For the price, I expected a bit more from the Sunday Mother's Day brunch but everything was excellent. Huge oysters, peel and eat shrimp, prime rib, nice salad bar, and other breakfast buffet items, including Shorty's omelette station.

Got a craving for some REAL Cajun/Creole eating, from the Crawfish pie and Creole Gumbo to the authentic atmosphere and great service. . . LOVE Owen Brendan's!!!

I love the staff and the food is fantastic. Great place to take your significant other.

The duck was excellent. Nice restaurant good drinks good service. Not cheap but not pricey.

Great atmosphere and the food was great! Although the gumbo was pretty bland but it could've just been the batch as everything else was delicious. Can't wait to try their brunch.

Owen Brennan s has a wonderful atmosphere and staff! We enjoyed their crab cakes and shrimp & grits!
The best Cajun food outside of NOLA!

Not like etoufee I've had before, but great; Redfish Perez was also great. Very nice, but casual lunch. Excellent staff, friendly and efficient.

First time I went to this restaurant . Worse service worse food I ever eat! It took 2 hours to get our food ! The waitress had a nasty attitude ! Was mean never smiled . Flat cokes every time ! Had a tiny eggplant it was not only hard , but it was Smothered with diced spicy tomatoes very spicy a few pieces of squash not cooked well ! They said it wasn t spicy but it was! Then the waitress said I will try to find you a piece of fish , yea right off of someone s plate? McDonald s would have been a better place to eat ! People were complaining that the service was horrible no refills on drinks, had to numerous times as for rolls and drinks and water! The worst restaurant ever! Very disappointed as was everyone else in the room! My mom tasted my food she could not even eat it! Will never go there again!!!!! We had a party of 75 or more and my cousin pain all of that money for crappy food and service ! When I asked the waitress why it took so long to get the food, she replied because almost everyone ordered steak! Pretty lame excuse . I do not eat animals so I had eggplant that was petrified and my plate looked like it was slapped together in 5 minutes. Then my dessert looked like it was from someone s left overs! I would not recommend anyone to eat there . Bad service bad food , waste of money and time, a long time !!!!!!!

Had the brunch got there right at 9am on sunday was empty. Its considered the best brunch in Memphis by some. They don't serve alcohol till 10am so that may be a part of of why it was so empty at first. Shorty who does the omelet station is a hoot!

Food was good! But service was not what I expected. It took over an hour to get our food. Hostess was excellent!

Absolutely the best restaurant to have Sunday brunch

We celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday here and the total experience was wonderful. The food was fantastic and our server Quad was prompt and friendly. We couldn't have asked for a better dinning experience.

I was part of a large group of highly successful real estate professionals. It s always difficult to serve large groups. (Ours was 50 ppl) Owen Brennan s did a fabulous job, great food and great service the entire afternoon made for a great event too. We will definitely return and frankly I m looking forward to it! Thanks to the staff for a memorable afternoon.

I went to Sunday Brunch. Lovely Atmosphere! Live music! Semi casual, Sunday best clothing attire. Delish food! Great Service! Pricey, but worth it! Did I say the food was delish! Cant wait to go back!

3.5...just not quite a 4 star visit for me.

Ambiance was dark and noisy, but the jazz in the back was very soothing when you can hear it. Water has a bit of an after taste.
Wait staff improved as the visit progressed.
Bread was warm.
House salad was delicious. Sweet and savory.
Hurricane drink...had 2. Yummmmm!
Crab cakes were delicious. A bit salty at times, maybe in combination with the remoulade sauce, but very flavorful.
Voodoo Chicken taste like an Italian pasta dish. Good, but Italian and definitely not Cajun. Too much basil. Addition of green peppers and garlic would have changed the flavor drastically. Sent it back and order the Red Snapper Perez (blackened with crawfish etoufee)...meh!

First visit to establishment I loved it. The crawfish pie is completely delicious. You should definitely order at least two of them one will only upset you. I also ordered the steak it was very good. My girlfriend ordered the crawfish etoufee. We really enjoyed our meal our waiter was too notch. The atmosphere is totally New Orleans.

Sunday brunch is the best in town, just be prepared to spend a pretty penny... great service, delicious food, New Orleans atmosphere
