Our Redeemer: A Family of Faith in Irving, Texas
Welcome to ORLC.org, the online home of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (ORLC) and the Our Redeemer family of faith in Irving, Texas. We are a community of believers who come together to worship God, serve our neighbors, and grow in our faith.
At ORLC, we believe that everyone is welcome. Whether you are new to the area or have been here for years, whether you are young or old, whether you have a strong faith or are just starting to explore what it means to be a Christian – we invite you to join us.
Our History
Our Redeemer Lutheran Church was founded in 1958 by a group of families who wanted a place where they could worship together and raise their children in the Christian faith. Over the years, our congregation has grown and changed – but our commitment to serving God and our community has remained constant.
Today, ORLC is led by Pastor David Koenig and an active council made up of members from all walks of life. We offer multiple worship services each week (both traditional and contemporary), as well as Bible studies for adults and youth groups for kids.
Our Mission
At ORLC, we believe that God calls us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind and strength – and also calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves. That's why we strive to be a church that is both inwardly strong (growing in faith) AND outwardly focused (serving others).
Some examples of how we live out this mission include:
- Supporting local charities like Irving Cares
- Hosting events like Vacation Bible School for kids
- Providing meals for those who are sick or grieving
- Offering counseling services through Stephen Ministry
- Partnering with other churches on community-wide initiatives
We also believe that every member has gifts that can be used for God's glory. Whether you are a talented musician, a gifted teacher, or simply someone who loves to serve others – there is a place for you at ORLC.
Our Worship
At ORLC, we believe that worship is not just something we do on Sunday mornings – it's a way of life. That's why we offer multiple worship services each week, each with its own unique style and focus.
Our traditional service (held at 8:30am on Sundays) features hymns and liturgy that have been cherished by Christians for centuries. Our contemporary service (held at 11:00am on Sundays) features modern music and an informal atmosphere that appeals to people of all ages.
In addition to our regular services, we also offer special services throughout the year – like Christmas Eve candlelight services and Easter sunrise services. We believe that these times of worship help us connect with God in deeper ways and remind us of the hope we have in Christ.
