Everyone at the hospital was friendly and professional. My complaint is the amount of money I was billed. I went to the ER because I had something in my eye. I received a separate bill from the Dr because apparently they are an outside service. I was appalled when I got the hospital bill! I was there about an hour, they used one q-tip and three eye drops and charged me over $1000.00! I ended up paying over $800.00 after my insurance! I am on private insurance which I have to pay an astronomical amount for as it is.

I had issues with their communication, professionalism, and they were far from thorough. You truly need to spend a lot of time being your own advocate if you go to most of the offices here. One of the issues I had was with bloodwork taking almost 2 months. I was then told that the bloodwork that was ordered wasn't complete and I had to have it done again. I can say that Kathleen Pawlanta was good, which bumped this review from one star. I have came across issues with other office's timeliness, receiving incorrect information, and their lack of compassion. I will not miss leaving this place in my past and recommend driving to Petoskey or Grayling if you are looking for specialized care in Gaylord.

Several years ago i took my wife to emergency for ...

Several years ago i took my wife to emergency for an abdominal issue. They said it was all in her head. I subsequently took her to Grayling and they sent her downstate for an emergency surgery that corrected the problem and probably saved her life. I figured this was s fluke and after I retired snd permanently i need a colonoscopy and sent a referral to the hospital. They never scheduled me and i thought maybe it was because of covid. So a year later i sent another and a receptionist determined that i didn't need it and shredded my paperwork. So here I could be dying of colon cancer while a receptionist is playing Russian roulet with my referral. I also contacted the Urology clinic and requested information on what it would be to schedule an appointment with a urologists. They gave me detailed instructions on what I would have to obtain from my primary care doctor. I requested that and after they received the information, they called my doctors office and said theh never heard of me. Again Russian roulet with my elevated PSA issue, which could be cancerous. So unless kno somebody, you may.be very well dead before you are examined a real doctor. Good Luck.

Very unprofessional, I have a nonverbal autistic 4 year old with many many other issues. The nurses will roll their eyes when you ask for something (I have my 5 year old with me because single mom) have been scolded by doctors here because I disciplined my child for acting out, I have literally sat in a room and seen one other occupied room and was still here for 6 hours, when being brought back to a room heard them say to the mom and son in the waiting room they had no rooms but our nurse asked what room and was told take your pick..... save your time go ANYWHERE else

Fantastic ER! My husband and my mom both were patients in the ER recently. Dr. Brittany is a wonderful ER doctor alongside the nurses. Some of the Intake nurses aren t always the friendliest but then some are extremely friendly. It seems many people complain about wait and insurance but it s an ER you have to wait and ER care is separate from the billing aspect. The care is excellent and my mom, my husband and myself were all treated well. The procedure and care that was administered was all of excellence. Covid makes things a little more complicated for everyone but that s almost anywhere health care is provided.

I was tested for covid on a Monday and was notified on Thursday. I was noticing that I was getting short of breath before I got the positive diagnosis. The doctor said to get a pulse oximeter and monitor. My oxygen level dropped down to 85 to 88 and I went to grayling hospital. They wanted to admit me but had to find a bed and the closest was at Otsego Memorial Hospital. I was transported by ambulance and spent 4 days there. They were great. Nurses and doctors and technician were awesome. Would definitely recommend. Great care. I'm home now recovering and I'm thankful for them All.
