Orrery Restaurant D&D Review

I went to Orrary with my friends for a meal after reopening post Covid and was really impressed by both the service and measures in place. Will definately be back!

Lovely place with great vegan selection. Excellent service.

I just love this place. I went there with my colleagues, we all loved it and I will definitely go back again. The food was amazing, beautifull wines and not for last the service was perfect. Thank you again and see you soon.

Staff were professional and friendly. Every dish was delicious and presented well. Will be back.

The food is decent but nothing to write home about, except for the espresso at the end which was superb.

Had champagne taste over there and it was very lovely with friendly and helpful staff.

I absolutely adore this restaurant! In fact, it was the very first restaurant i chose to visit after lockdown, it was absolutely wonderful! We requested a table outside and has an incredible evening.
Unfortunately, when i tried to rebook today, the lady in reservations was incredibly rude and uncaring, when i requested the same table as i had a few months ago outside. "It's a first come, first serve basis" she rattled and didn't care that i would have to cancel if a table outside wasn't requested. A GREAT disappointment in customer service, so i cancelled and booked Estiatorio Milos instead. You've lost a loyal customer!

This is all a French table in london should be, its sophisticated food, wine and service, is exactly that, if thats what you desire. You can do better but you will pay dearly for the slight difference.

Second visit for me, and the place is just as good. Lovely staff, attentive but not intrusive, and first rate food which does not leave you feeling over-stuffed. The decor is great. I will be back asap.

I recently went to Orrery to celebrate a friend's birthday and we had an amazing time! A lovely restaurant with brilliant food and attentive staff. I highly recommend if you want to mark a special occassion

I finally got to visit this much recommended restaurant. And I was not disappointed. The ambience is very soothing and the staff attentive. I really liked the bright interiors. I sat jndoors as it wS raining outside. I could see they have some terrace seating as well. The highlight was definitely the food. I had the seafood ravioli in lobster bisque for starters, braised lamb for main and elderflower panna cotta. All courses were delicious. I especially enjoyed the lamb which was very flavoursome.

GF options are great, the food is great. I need to actually head back as it has been a while. But the service and golly the food options and treats are brilliant.

Had a lovely evening at the Orrery. The food was delicious, the service was attentive and efficient, good ambiance; the roof-top bar was perfect for an aperitif. I'll definitely be going back!

Had a light lunch at Orrery epicerie. Great choice of fresh salads and delicious quiche. Nice and friendly atmosphere.

The place was completely empty and silent, so if you like dead places this is the one. There was another table, and me and my friends. The food was ok and the waiter was nice, but the manager was super rude. First, he was explaining the cheese board to the other table, and couldn't tell the difference between cheeses. He said 'this is an Irish cheese, which is the same as an English cheese' upsetting the customer. Secondly, when we ask in a friendly manner if he could put some soft music on, he replied " if you want music, take your plate and go down to the bar. We don't do music here " How rude was that for a not so cheap dinner ? I strongly recommend to try Bluebird Chelsea instead. Good food, same price, nicer place, friendlier staff.

We came to Orrery to celebrate a promotion and left extremely pleased - having been made to feel very welcome and offered a courteous service by the staff, we can recommend coming here for a great experience. The food spoke for itself but the little extras went a long way (excellent recommendation on the wine, careful attention to accommodating covid risks, no rush (even though we were slightly late)). Would happily return.

We booked this restaurant for a family dinner to celebrate my mother's 85th birthday. We specifically requested the big round table in the corner - which was ideal - and quiet enough for everyone to be able to hear each other. The service, both in advance of the evening and on the day itself was impeccable. Our maitre d - cum manager for the night was the delightful Mathieu, and all of the waiting staff were friendly and polite. Most significantly, the food was outstanding - and the whole atmosphere of the place was perfect. My mother was absolutely glowing as a result and we couldn't fault any aspect of the evening.

It's a shame I can't give half stars in google review as this restaurant is above average but not super 5 stars.


A good selection of starters, mains and delicious dessert.

The ambiance of the restaurant is great. It is a long restaurant with tables on both side of a middle corridor. Staff were very friendly and professional.

The food was very good in all aspects from presentation to taste. The bread which I believe is baked on the premisses is to die for, specially the bread with figs. Even now my mouth is watering.

I would not rate it as the best value for money as it is on the expensive side. Also there was something special missing and hence why I did not give it 5 stars.

All in all I would go there again on a deal and would definitely recommend it.

Excellent food. We went a-la-carte set lunch. I wish we tried their tasting menu. Their signature dish is apparently the tournedos Rossini which was delicious, except that the rest is equally good. We had Dorset crab, steak tartare, and wild mushroom risotto. All sublime! We ll visit again!

Had an excellent evening here with our old boss before he went back to the US. Not cheap, but great quality food and wine, and a lovely location.

Have been here lots of times and the service and food is excellent. Would fully recommend this as a place for fine dining.

My third or fourth vists. Still keep the good standard of food and services. Love the window seating for lunch, very relaxing!

Another restaurant that does the Covid social measures superbly. Each set of cutlery has been sterilised and packed in a separate pack.

Why have I never dined here previously? Exceptional service - such a wonderful team of courteous staff. The food made my soul happy ~ I left Orrery feeling emotionally restored! Elegant, stylish, sophisticated, posh - but not snobby or stuck up.

Beautiful setting, good service and variety of menus to choose from. All the dishes we had were nice except the turbot was under seasoned and tasted sweet with the pear. It s a bit of a shame because the fish itself was cooked perfectly. Plenty of drinks to choose from and the desserts were all nicely presented. Would definitely go back again!

Food was really good, very well defined flavors, good products and nice presentation however service was really lacking, slow and confused, terrace on top is also disappointing, cocktails are pretty bad, wine selection below average and no good beer's options either.

Amazing restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious at an incredibly reasonable price for lunch, several items have a supplement on them so this can quickly bump up the cost.

Service was good, only small blip was they cleared away the wine glasses when we hadn't finished the bottle and they had to bring new ones.

Overall would definitely return and would highly recommend if you are in the area

We did the tasting menu and had a great time. The food was good, their Somm was a character who certainly lived the wine and wanted to bring you into his world. The restaurant is beautiful as well.

Lunch at @the_orrery is such an incredible experience! Their menu is a complete bargain. The food is full of flavours. The venue is simply beautiful due to its huge windows and thought-through decor. You are treated like a princess/prince, because the staff is very friendly and professional. Very pleasant and surprise central place to have lunch or dinner at. I would definitely recommend it for dates. Get a place next to the window!

Nice roof top terrace and good service. Only had time to try some of the starter dishes which were delicate and well balanced. It seemed empty and lacked atmosphere but we started early, would like to come back again

Awful coffee, latte was not frothed, just hot milk, shot was burnt. Also their flat white was the usual wrong size as in the rest of London.

Lovely bright place with hugely comfortable seating. Refined vibe and full of older wealthy patrons. Food matched this and was delicious.

Shocking service and some very rude waiters. Food also took hours and hours to come. Would never go back!

UPDATE: Called the Manager following on from their comment here however was never called back. I have never written a review on anything before so the service would have had to be appalling for me to do so. The restaurant one hundred per cent knew they had provided a poor experience as they acknowledged it before we left the restaurant on the night and provided extra free food during the evening before we had given any feedback at all. One waiter also apologised on behalf of the other waiter for being rude when we only asked if we could order some drinks after being there for nearly 40 minutes!

Covid friendly terrace, the most lovely staff and wonderful food. It has a very special occasion feel to it with the lovely little touches like amuse bouches to start and chocolates to finish.
