It has now been over 1 year since I filed my claim for unclaimed property. By law claims may take up to 120 days to process, but that wasn't my experience. I believe it was approx 180 days before I was contacted with a request for some more documentation. Which I provided within 15 days. I waited another 60 days only to receive another request for different documentation which I am unable to provide. After approx 60 more days I got an email stating they were closing my claim & I'd need to reapply with all new copies of same documentation. My claim was for a few hundred dollars. It IS NOT the states $ $ but yet by someone's standards this kind of inefficient work is okay? And us tax payers pay their wages? Huh?
