I was contacted by orbit due to an outstanding debt. I called them to set up a payment plan. The lady I spoke with was very polite and helpful and even advised a better water rate for me. I'm making regular payments and I've never had an issue with them :)
You ever knock on my door the way you did today and you'll never knock on a door again. I didn't even know who they were, I didnt even bother to listen after they way he knocked, He's lucky to escape. Googled orbit - debt collectors or clowns. Dont even speak to them they have nothing to offer. I rang the office, spoke to some clueless pratt who just repeats from a flow chart, in a kevin a perry voice "ya gotta speak to the field agent" y? So then you can add your fees for a non existent debt.
Only in my house to gather data on myself and did not listen to anything I had to say. I offered a payment but he told me he could not accept such a low payment and left.
His vocabulary was scripted and I guess he was working on commission as his conversation finished when he did not get what he wanted.
Shame on Welsh Water for working with this company. They have done nothing but harass a severely mentally ill adult to the point they had medications doubled to cope over this period. In addition both Welsh Water / Orbit were informed that she is vulnerable and offered proof, they were also informed of her advocates full contact details in order to discuss the debt, yet still they attended the property without notification. In addition they have not responded to a subject access request in order for us to prove that she actually owes the debt; unfortunately as a vulnerable adult, people often try to take advantage of her, hence her having an advocate. So far they are in breach of a number of code of practice guidelines and several pieces of legislation which we are pursuing with the relevant official bodies. God only knows how vulnerable people without an advocate or the relevant support handle situations like these. If the person owes the debt, we have no issue, but we require proof firstly, which I do not think is an unreasonable request given that it's a legislative requirement.

Posed as Orbit housing to get into my address, once in my address, the "field agent" stated I must pay my water bill or I'd be facing eviction, as someone who suffers from mental health, I paid this and he left, It was only by calling orbit and anglian water I found thios agent to be part of OrbiT Dept collection. Unlawful collection and police have been called.
Chased me for small amount owing to Anglian Water, always asking for further contact details to bother me for ever. Paid in full I might add.
Bunch of lying sods.... Told they couldnt set up a direct debit so had to habe my card number yet after speaking to bank i find out that they can actually set one up but chose not to as this way if they make a mistake on amount i have no comeback so they could in theory take 250.00 off card instead of 25.00 NEVER TRUST ORBIT!!!
Other than being p@#$ed off at owing the money (my fault) orbit were very helpful and polite on both occassions when i called to make payments.
So good at debt recovery, they need at least 4 other businesses registered at Companies House trading at the same address.

No letters from orbit saying they have bought the debt, instead just sent round a field agent requesting payment in full. I made sure he stood at my door though didn't even get up the step to my house
Jokers, out of the blue received letter saying i owe money to them, no proof of claim, no signed agreement, no name to take liability, not even a mention as to who the original debt might have belonged to! Mail fraud at its finest!!
