The opera house is very good in every way. From the moment you make a donation for the year it is easy to have free tickets or a very good discount. (Donations are to be deducted from taxes). Programs are highly sought after and of high quality. We are never disappointed.

I was at the performance on June 22 of L'italienne in Algiers!
Superb! I liked everything...
Just a downside which is not a detail ...
From the 2nd gallery we could absolutely not see "the upper part" of the decor where part of the action was taking place ... seeing only feet is hardly pleasant !!!
The director should go up there before finalizing his sets!

Came to introduce the opera to two primary classes, we were very, very badly received. The lady who placed us separated the children when it was agreed that they should be at least in groups of 5 with an adult. This same lady has allowed herself to argue with 8-year-old children, to speak very badly to them, in an aggressive way when the opera had not yet started and the children were whispering. Otherwise it was a sadness for me to rediscover a place that was once magnificent, even magical .... The Opera is very dirty, poorly maintained, the seats stink of mold and humidity.

Gorgeous building and atmosphere, high quality productions of fantastic operas, many of which are not part of the never-changing canon of operas you've heard a hundred times. So there'll be always something new to discover! The musicians are usually top notch (that's coming from a professional classical musician), and the tickets range from expensive to so inexpensive, they might as well be free.

An institution in the cultural landscape of eastern France. To frequent it is also to detach oneself from the stereotypes which still surround these places too much to discover the world of the creation and that of a living art which raises the spirit.

Worthy of the biggest opera houses, the artistic and musical production is of very high quality. Its presence on Place Stanislas and its permanent collaboration with its French and European colleagues confirms its place among the great. The decor is also grand and justifies a visit alone.

The building is magnificent with a multitude of mosaics on the ground, sculpture ... The sets and costumes during the performances are magnificent and it is useless to comment on how breathtaking the said representations are. A true heritage of Lorraine.

The place is worth visiting, the public areas are beautiful, the room is beautiful, and the stage equipment is still "in its own juice" which is no longer the case of many theater (hangers with pulleys, etc.) . The programming is varied and of quality, and the prices accessible.

History

The Opéra national de Lorraine was originally built in 1758 as a theater for the Duke of Lorraine's court.
