Great atmosphere for growing children, my son is only one and loves the library.

Love going here when i have nothing to do, now that they got new security the library sucks, very unprofessional security except a few. They talk to ppl any way that want but once a civilian talks back they quick to run to each and tell stories and then banns u knowing I come in the library everyday with my children

I'm doing an extensive tour of the OCPL's- visiting them several times each, at different times of the day in order to write the best, most thoroughly researched reviews as possible.

The Dewitt Community Library's staff could be much friendlier to visitors. They do not treat their guests equally with regard to race, class or age, from what I have observed. They do not go out of their way to smile or act in a welcoming manner. Nor do they say thank you, even when money is exchanged.

Redeeming qualities: Comparatively, this library has a practical, user-friendly setup and one of the most delightful children's sections I've seen yet.

I like this library a lot. Staff was very helpful and kind. Clean spaces and cool offerings for community.

The best place to bring young kids! We go almost every weekend to the play area on the second floor. It's always very clean and nice. Obviously, we always find some great books to check out, but as a play place the main library branch is great. The librarians are always so nice, too.

If you have anything to say about the Central Library that is in any way viewed as criticism the administration will just pay no heed. They are not at all interested in being responsive to your concern. They do not engage at all with their patrons. This is their m.o. The culture there is toxic .

Great Library. Close to home. Has helpful material(books). Movies as well.

I love the New Galleries library because you can come in & drink coffee, etc in designated places.....plenty of computers...

It is always a joy very happy that is coming back to normal look forward to spending more time as always

Rent a cop on the third floor harassed visitors and lurks over their shoulders until they leave, even if they have time to pack up their stuff and go before the library closes. The staff also supports this rude behavior.

Love their play center! My toddler has a blast there! Let him play there for 2 hours and go home with no problem getting him down for nap time afterwards.

Looks cool, offers great classes, not a large amount of books available although.

Awesome place with much to do such as computers, kids area, and maker space.

The Central branch's wifi is AWFUL.. I think they keep it that way purposely since it is in a non-white section of the city. If you go to Petit or Jamesville Dewitt super fast connection all the time. JIM CROW Syracuse NY for you.

How SAD! My Husband and I tried to take our 2 small children here, we arrived at 430, and the door said they closed at 5, and an "employee" TURNED US AWAY. He told us that they don't let anyone in after 4:45. We also called around 4:35 to see if we could speak to someone about this policy and the phones were already turned off with a pre recorded message. This was after walking all over the galleries trying to find an entrance, not realizing it was moved to a ONLY street entrance.

They discriminated against me and have placed a private ban using the gs4 security company which was the "gun squad" for bobby shmurda whom was convicted of the contents of the rap gs4 was in.

Place is clean and awesome, except the bus station is down the street and junkies use the bathroom to shoot up heroin and do drugs. Don't go to the bathroom
