One Twenty Six Restaurants Review

This is an excellent little restaurant. I made reservations beforehand easily on the website, service was prompt and the space was small but not cramped. Would definitely recommend more for dates than large groups.

The food was phenomenal. We got the Samosas as an appetizer and they were very tasty, a little spicy, and hot. My Dutch burger was cooked right, juicy, tender, and flavorful. The Gnocchi with Crab was also good, as I got to sneak a bite from my date. For dessert, the lemon poppy seed cake was very flavorful and well balanced. A nice little elegant dessert.

The homemade elements of each course were addressed by our waiter, who I believe was also the owner. I could really feel the love put into the recipes.

Drinks were good too, nothing too crazy complicated, but done right.

Really high quality food. Their produce is top notch. Best salads in Iowa city. The samosas were made in-house and really delicious. A tad on the pricey side, but well worth it. This is among the best and freshest food I've had in Iowa City.

This is billed as an upscale French restaurant. I don t know if we caught them on an off night or what. The lamb was passable but I didn t like the watery texture of the polenta. My husband had the hanger steak which was way overpriced for chewy meat and a huge plate of French fries. The desserts were delicious. They have an extensive wine selection and a full bar but no cocktail menu.

Cute, intimate, and cozy place. Service was great and there is a good menu.

You have to eat here.126 has always been a hidden Iowa City gem for me, my whole life. Their local farm to table menu, passionate owners & staff shine through their food. I love grabbing lunch here by myself, especially during patio season. I've celebrated New Years Eve, with an amazing tasting menu. I've also attended extremely small and intimate weddings, in this beautiful space.

Understand that eating here, with the open kitchen and lovely exposed brick makes you feel part of the community and is right for pretty much any occasion.

Had a lovely experience, service was very accommodating and polite. The bacon croquettas and the vegetable samosas were amazing. As well as the burgers, the 126 burger was amazing quality and had great taste for a very reasonable price.

We had pasta. I had the mushroom pasta with chicken and my date had the shrimp linguine. We had chicken fingers and samosas for our appetizers. The food was delicious, fragrant, and the chicken was organic. And the chocolate truffle was amazing. Also, the owner was so attentive and nice. We will definitely come back.

Delicious food, great service, impressive drink menu, fantastic ambiance! Enjoyed spending my birthday dinner here and will definitely be back!! The food is unique and the server built report by telling us some background information on the food. Very impressive!!

Our service was absolutely incredible. Our server, Matthew, was very kind and helpful to what was on the menu. The food was great and wonderfully cooked. The inside is on the smaller side but is warm and cozy all at the same time. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Iowa City. We had one of the best meals of the year here.
