Visited this nice lunch spot on a recommendation and I am glad I did. The menu is composed of po-boys and their signature sandwich is the Olde Tyme Special which is a roast beef, turkey, Swiss and ham po-boy. Excellent. The half is filling if you order a side of fries. Dining available inside or outside as well as take-out.
Such a cool place. Our shrimp po boys were delicious. The atmosphere was awesome
I have many friends that recommended OTG and it did not disappoint! Rolled in on a Friday night to live music on the patio. I ordered an Old Tyme Special, spouse ordered a Half & Half and daughter ordered a shrimp poor boy. It was honestly a race to see who could finish first. There was no sharing and no talking during this meal!! So good!! We will be back.
I had a sandwich from here a few months ago that I still think about. It was wonderful.
Whenever Lafayette, LA comes up in conversation, I mention OTG. Do not miss it.
My wife had the oyster poorboy, while I enjoyed a shrimp one. She misses the New Orleans food. There was a nice covered section and an open-air section out back, as well as a cramped indoor area. Small restrooms.
Curbside service was great. I went around 1:15pm on a Monday when they weren't that busy.
This will always be a family staple. They have generous portions and the proteins are always high-quality and well-made. The staff is friendly, helpful, and fast. While it's not a large building and parking isn't the best because it's on the edge of the University- don't let that stop you.
Only one person I have ever know didn't like it and I'm pretty sure he'll be a serial killer later in life. So if you're not insane, you'll love it.
Delicious po boys! Outstanding environment! Friendly and efficient staff! Really? What more could you ask for? Tell Becca I sent ya!
Had my first po'boy today (Oyster) fully dressed with hot sauce and it was life altering. The best sandwich I've ever had. I can see what all the fuss was about. This place lived up to the hype.
