Such an amazing work of architecture that was home to one of the 19th Century s artistic landscape painters. Beautiful landscape with carriage roads, woods, gardens and a lake. Incredible views of the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains. Everyone should visit this masterpiece at least once.

The grounds here are beautiful. The only thing to watch out for is the tours if you want to go indoors during covid. On the website, it said that indoor tours could be booked onsite if an outdoor tour was already reserved ahead of time. We didn t really care about an outdoor tour, but we paid for one so that we could get an indoor tour at the door. However, by the time we arrived, indoor tours were sold out. Waste of money, and the website doesn t say anything about this possibility.

Even though it's Winter it was still a lovely place to walk around. Didn't expect there to be so many people there in a cold day, but people were walking their dogs, snowshoeing, taking photos, etc. Beautiful place and just a good vibe from all the various people enjoying it as well. Looking forward to returning in the Spring.

We loved this place. The museum and building were not open but the grounds are open to public till sundown. We went to the top and walked the ridge trail to get the best views over the Hudson and the Rip Van Winkle Bridge. This trail was suitable for using a stroller. See you can spot the various art installations and scenic views. Bathrooms are available.

Really worth the trip. The home was closed for us, but the walk around the grounds proved to be delightful. Most of the paths are gravel, with some areas with a steep grade. It was interesting to learn about a key artist from the first American art movement.

We Enjoyed Visiting this State Owned Park. The Views from the Main house at top were some of the Best Views I have ever Seen in the Hudson valley. Also the garden is a Must see if you like Plants and Flowers, they let You walk through them. Olana the main house not open yet, but a beautiful Artistic design Mansion. And the Coach house weight near by enjoyed also. There is more to visit down below like the Cabin, the Barn, and Plenty of walking trails or paths.

WOW! THIS PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL! Must see (even if you can't do a tour of the home) just walk around the grounds and take in the scenery. You can learn enough history, admire the gorgeous architecture and view a stunning overlook!!!

Views are unbelievable. Go earlier in the day than we did for clearer views of the Hudson or later for what should be gorgeous sunsets. Too late in the day and you're looking directly into the sun. I wish the house had been open but the walks were so so beautiful.
