Love this place. Fab coffee, the ultimate toastie....nachos with cheese, salsa and jalapenos. Lovely coffee, fantastic staff. Also , they gave a 'pay it forward' scheme allowing you to prepay for a coffee for someone who can't afford one.

This is a lovely little coffee shop. The staff are very friendly and the place has a lovely atmosphere. I love the minimalist decor and the coffee's great and cheap too. What's not to love about this place?

I love the vibe here: chill, comfy seats, industrial vibe, really great selection of books to read on the shelves. Coffees are really tasty, and we'll made - they know how to pull a shot of espresso. Food is nice too, and they always bring over a bottle of water and cups with your coffee, those small touches really help!

A bright yet cosy coffee shop, with a good range of hot drinks as well as bottles or cans of soft drinks. Local, freshly baked goods are available as well as soup made daily on the premises. A great business that also aims to help the homeless.

Really nice atmosphere and really nice coffee. I went with a chai latte which came with the spices and milk in a pot so I could leave it to steep which was very nice. Staff were lovely. Would come back here again!

This is a pleasant cafe, with good coffee and friendly staff offering good service. It's a great place for meet-up groups to get together. There is only one toilet but it is kept in good order. Unfortunately there are no gluten free goodies available but if this is an issue you probably know how to work around it.

Easily the best independent coffee place in Middlesbrough if not the North East. Great coffee, great food, great staff in a great place. All while fighting homelessness in Middlesbrough and being extremely ethically responsible.

Welcoming place with friendly staff and a relaxing atmosphere. Coffee tasted great and they provided free water which I thought was a nice touch. There was no pressure to leave or order again once we'd finished our drinks either.

Fantastic coffee, that is responsibly sourced. The staff know all about coffee and are always getting in new blends to try. Has an industrial kind of feel to the interior, yet manages to be welcoming and friendly.

Beautiful industrial style/New York loft feel to the shop. Music audible but not overly so. A nice range of types and sizes of chairs and tables to suit different groups and their needs.

The range of tea and coffee is excellent and very competitively priced. I was pleasantly surprised to receive table water as well as my pot of tea, a touch not often seen outside of restaurants.

Real plants and a warm inviting atmosphere which comes from the staff make this a great location to chill and watch the world go by as well as have meetings

I wasn't sure what to expect as it was my first time visiting here for the day but I would come again. Although they didn't have the greatest selection the food was so fresh and affordable and the grain they use changes daily. The staff were really friendly so its definitely worth going as it's close to the centre.

Off the Ground Coffee is my all-time favourite hangout spot in Middlesbrough. The grain bowls are delicious and the soup is always full of flavour! A selection of freshly baked goods by Songbird Bakery are also available, get them while you still can! The staff are always super friendly. You order at the counter and they bring everything over to your table. Prices are also super reasonable, compared to the overpriced coffee giants like Starbucks and Costa. If you're a fan of proper coffee and great atmosphere, get yourself here, you won't be disappointed! I'd also recommend you get a V60 filter coffee!

Place is alright. Nothing will ever compare to my dearly beloved starbucks, but this was nice. A very industrial interior, pleasant mix of chipboard counter and concrete floors. Service was good, wide range of coffee, average price, and served with water too. Crowd was quite young. Felt rather old. Do a few food options, grains etc. Hipster?

Have been using this coffee shop since it opened and it keeps getting better. The coffee is excellent, the staff are very friendly and it is competitively priced. The food is refreshingly different from the others, very tasty, good quality and great value. I highly recommend the grain bowls. This is still my 'go to' coffee shop in The Boro.

Excellent independent coffee house. I especially love the hot dark chocolate. It's also great for a very tasty healthy lunch. The staff are great and really friendly. The atmosphere is much more relaxed than the commercial places.

This place is wonderful not only do they treat you with beautiful coffee and a relaxing atmosphere. What many people might not know is that after a hard day at work when they should be closed they stay open just to help the homeless by giving them free coffee and soup and sandwiches. People can buy a coffee and then pay for a coffee for a homeless person to help with the costs that comes from there own pockets. What a lovely kind bunch of staff thank you to use all xx
