I gave two stars for the beautiful view. However, the food is really inferior. Decades ago this place had really good food. What happened?

Great food, beautiful view, I only wish the full menu was available so that I could get a full experience. Also, the portion sizes were a bit small for the price paid

Beautiful views, great service horrible food. Three times we tried to eat here and 3 times we were disappointed. It s sad really cause it is in the perfect place and the wait staff really work hard to serve. Best bet is drinks and appetizers.

Very long time for meals to arrive after ordering. Food was not up to par per consensus of nine adults in our party- including myself. Food way overpriced and then had to pay $2.99 for a side salad! Service extremely slow. I'll neither recommend or eat there again.

Absolutely amazing dining experience. From the food to the service, it was the best restaurant I've been to in a while. I highly recommend anyone to dine here when you're in Wilmington.

Unacceptable. PERIOD. Been waiting over 1 & 1/2 hours, watching others come in eat and leave and we're still not seated. AND they don't take reservations? AND empty tables everywhere.
Three goals at the sign-in and all three doing nothing. Wish I could post the picture of them doing nothing.

Terrible experience, ordered fries twice and never got them. Put our name in a half hour before we showed up, then had to wait another hour before we were seated. Hostesses we're far from friendly. Waiters were nice, but service was slow and they forgot a lot of our food.

The views of the ocean priceless. The food was really good plus the staff topnotch.

Excellent fresh fish, Maui is some of the best that I've had and on par with fresh fish from the Virgin Islands. Jordan provide top touch service, can't wait to go back!

My wife, two kids and i ate here on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. We ate outside which our two year old son enjoyed watching the birds. The weather, service and food were excellent. This was our fourth visit (2009, 2010, 2011, 2013) and we will return.

Delicious brunch and gorgeous surroundings. Surf and Turf Eggs Benedict hit the spot while watching the waves roll in. Plenty of outdoor dining and very covid safe

Have been coming here for several years and this week was the 1st time none of my family really cared for their meals. The selections were limited and the quality has slipped. Prices still the same. Had a wonderful waitress though. Probably won't be coming back for some time.

Been there twice for Sunday Brunch awesome veiw and nice inside. Both times silverware was dirty had food on them not sure if this is a on going problem maybe manager needs to have a meeting bathroom this visit was nasty mens and women's think it's a great place just need a little more attention to cleanliness. Food is ok

Looking forward to a New Years Eve dinner with friends at Oceanic were we have eaten before and was very good. Unfortunately tonight was not the same experience, seated on time and waitress was nice. The restaurant was so cold had to eat entire dinner with a coat on. The featured appetizer was out, Caesar salad with no croutons, asked for mashed potatoes waitress said that we do not have any and then an order came out on a bed of mashed potatoes , mixed vegetables were asparagus and 40.00 grouper was so over cooked it was like rubber. Very expensive meal that was a disappointment.

The food is very good , the service is nice and the sunset from the pier is beautiful at 8:00 PM.

I guess we went at the right time. The mahi mahi was fresh delicious and prepared very well. The shrimp salad was really over the top tasty; the hush puppies were absolutely delicious but not the freshest. I loved the view even in January during a rain storm. I've read the other reviews and hope the management has as well. It's an absolutely lovely place with stunning views and yes it is a little pricey but comparable to the other restaurants in the area . What a wonderful local hot spot; would love to see that the patrons are really satisfied with their food and the service. I will be back the next time I'm in town. Thank you for a wonderful lunch

First restaurant we went to on our honeymoon. Took 15 minutes to even be addressed at our table. My husband ordered ribeye steak and was told they ran out and only had a 12oz ny strip. Then came back and said they ran out of that. Poor service. Food was eh. I would never go back.

Food was fantastic. The guy at the bar( Davin) I think was his name, was very nice. The place was very clean.

This is the place to go for a nice sea shore lunch or dinner when in Wilmington.

Beautiful location with live music. We ordered drinks and desert and sat on the pier: key lime pie was excellent. Very friendly service.

Great food. Great drinks.....if you can get service. When there for late lunch 3pm on a Saturday with my wife. Hostess advised there would be a 5 min wait. Told her no big deal we'll gonna grab a drink at the bar....Several couple come in behind us and are promptly seated outside. I reminded the hostess we were waiting at the bar for outdoor seating party of 2. She acknowledges same and the same thing happens...I approach the hostess stand again and ask for seating for 2 outside with drink in hand and we get seated this time. We're given menus and enjoy the great view. 30 min later we ask a waitress not working in our section for a manager. Waitress in our area finally comes and apologizes for the wait. Manager approaches and is very apologetic, stated that they are in the middle of a shift change, and offers to comp meals. Would have taken her up o the comped meal however this is the 2nd time this has happened to us at this restaurant. I really do like the food and atmosphere here. Rarely do reviews and pains me to write this.

had lunch here 8/2. It was great. They are doing a good job of placing people as far apart as possible, but it's still a nice and relaxing atmosphere All employees wearing masks. Food was delicious (steak for my kid, crab cakes for me)....have to say the veggies were the best I've had in a long time which means all aspects of the meal are important to the chef. highly recommend.

Oceanic's ambiance is wonderful - that's a fact. Enjoying the cool breeze outside on the pier is relaxing and beautiful. However, if you're here for the food, you should look elsewhere.

The food is expensive (an easy $20 or more per entree) and has zero finesse. For instance, the crab dip comes with toasted bread equivalent to the $1 french bread at any grocery store. You'd think that for almost $12 for the appetizer that you'd at least get some artisan bread. The trio (fried flounder, shrimp and oysters) with fries is $25 and it comes out looking like the kitchen literally dumped the basket of fried food on the plate and served it. The NY steak was $27 and was the best thing we got. We had to send it back as it was not cooked as we asked, however, afterwards, it was great.

For about $80 for two people, I would have rather went to Something Fishy. You expect Oceanic to not only have good views, but equally great food. Unfortunately, the price you pay for the food isn't worthwhile. Come here for the drinks and views - skip the food. You're not missing out on anything.

Recent remodel is really nice. The outside area is really great now.
Seafood always good. Prices are ok for where you are. Service was excellent. Very friendly and caring without being schmoozy.

Service honestly wasn't the best, but there was an amazing view of the beach and the food (once it finally got there) was great!

Went for lunch yesterday with 2 friends from out of town that came to beach for the day. The so called "waiter" brought us our appetizer and drinks quickly. We then ordered 3 meals. The so called "waiter" disappeared for approx. 30 minutes... never asked if we wanted another drink, how was app. etc. We ran him down about our food order then he immediately brought it out. All 3 meals COLD, soggy cold fries, cold fried oysters etc. Got the manager and had to hear about a free desert or a free drink...the usual canned text BS they must be taught to say. The so called "waiter" never came over and basically hid. Everyone I told this to said "why would you go there anyways? You should know better.". Being a local I blame myself for wanting to have a decent meal on the water anywhere here and for thinking different. Its embarrassing that service sucks in this town for the most part. Thank god for the location and drunken tourists eating there otherwise this place would go under. I guess this is what you get for having millennial's that don't give a damn trying to run your business. Oh I say "so called" waiter as I could not even consider him one.

Oceanic is the best restaurant ever! Every time we go here the food is amazing. The service is the best we have ever had. When we come to Wilmington that is one place we know we will be eating dinner. You are guaranteed an awesome experience.

Food was good. Caesar dressing is homemade so they make it with sardines. But they replaced it. Also they need more parking or some kind of new lot.

Great food! Great ocean view! Mahi Mahi was spectacular!! Bonus is since I was a paying customer I got to park in the lot and had access to stroll the beach for an hour after my meal.

Great spot for island drinks, only had appetizers but would love to have dinner, staff is very friendly, awesome view of ocean, we will definitely be back

Don t believe the website it says no waitlist come on in . we drove 10 minutes and then there s a one hour wait. Not acceptable. Staff said Yeah, we need to fix that.

Good food don't sit outside or the birds will take ur food

I was sat by a hostess on the back patio. After waiting for over 10 minutes for a server to come greet me and offer me even so much as a glass of water, I gave up and walked out, only to pass a group of 6 servers chit chatting with each other on the way out. I didn't know I had to ask for service once I was sat. I went to Ceviches instead which was fantastic.

Ran out of mashed potatoes an some other stuff but overall awesome place ,great location and atmosphere.

So happy that oceanic is taking COVID seriously! All the employees wear masks and have sanitizing stations located all over the restaurant.

We couldn't order takeout. Guess they were quite busy.

Came back after two years because of location and ambiance. Food was good, but inside was really noisy. Service was not that great. AND.......We were presented a bill that reflected different prices as they had on the menu???? So check your tab......

The party/reception room on the top floor is beautiful with amazing views of the beach!

They accommodated us (4 adults and 3 babies) the best they could. Service was a little slow and they got our appetizer order wrong. But the manager fixed it and it was overall a good experience. Beautiful view!

Horrible service. Horrible food. Completely overpriced. Got shrimp and grits and they were cold. Very very small portion for a $20 meal. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

The place had a great view of the waterway but the servings were half the size they should be for an average of $20 a plate. Food was good but nothing spectacular.

Service was really good, but the food wasnt as good as it has been in the past.

The service was ok, which is forgivable, and the place really is pretty, but the food was the most disappointing part. Salmon burger had very little flavor (and was mediocre overall) fish tacos were too greasy. For a place that has their head chef's name stenciled on the door, I expected better.

Some servers are horrible but when you get a good one they're great, their food is always good and the view is worth the trip.

After reading the reviews, we almost didn't go but so glad we did. The views are amazing, covered outside seating on the pier overlooking the ocean. The food was pretty good. The reviews are mixed on food but we got whitefish and fries baskets and they were great!! I definitely recommend this place for the atmosphere!!

Used to be...My favorite place!!! Took my papa for his birthday like we have for years and he said never again.. I'm so sad bc I love this place. He and his daughter got flounder and they said it tasted like tilapia and neither could eat the Cole slaw bc it was nasty.. On top of waiting an hour and 15 minutes for our food to come.. If it's new management they messed up...

Whenever we go there we are never disappointed. Our server Kylie was attentive and very helpful with our choices. I had scallops which were cooked to perfection. My husband had his favorite Sunkiss Shrimp and Parmesan Oysters which were amazing. The manager Amanda stopped by twice because she was aware I have food allergies. She was extremely sincere and attentive. Which makes me always feel comfortable when I go there. This is our go to place when family and friends are in town. The view, food and service are amazing. Highly recommend this place.
