Ocean Safaris: The Ultimate Whale Watching Experience in Plettenberg Bay
If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure in Plettenberg Bay, look no further than Ocean Safaris. Our experienced crew knows the best spots for whale watching, and we'll take you up close to these majestic creatures as well as dolphins and seals.
At Ocean Safaris, we're passionate about marine life and conservation. We believe that by sharing our love of the ocean with others, we can help protect it for future generations. That's why we offer a range of eco-friendly tours that allow you to experience the beauty of nature without harming it.
Our flagship tour is our whale watching experience. From June to November each year, southern right whales migrate from Antarctica to the warmer waters off South Africa's coast to mate and give birth. These gentle giants can weigh up to 60 tons and are known for their playful behavior - they often breach (jump out of the water) or slap their tails on the surface.
Our boat is specially designed for whale watching - it's low to the water so you can get a better view, but also fast enough to keep up with these speedy creatures if they decide to swim away. Our experienced guides will share fascinating facts about whales' behavior and biology while ensuring your safety at all times.
But whales aren't the only marine animals you'll see on our tours! Dolphins are also common in Plettenberg Bay - there are several resident pods that live here year-round. These intelligent mammals love riding alongside boats' wakes or bow-riding (swimming in front of them). You might even see them leaping out of the water!
Seals are another highlight of our tours - they often sunbathe on rocks or swim around boats curiously. We'll take you past Robberg Nature Reserve where thousands of Cape fur seals live on a rocky island offshore.
In addition to our whale watching tours, we also offer a range of other experiences. Our seal and marine eco-tour takes you to Robberg Nature Reserve to see the seals up close, as well as other marine life like penguins and gannets. We also offer a birding tour for nature lovers - Plettenberg Bay is home to over 300 species of birds!
All our tours are led by experienced guides who are passionate about marine conservation. We're committed to minimizing our impact on the environment - our boat is powered by eco-friendly engines, and we follow strict guidelines for approaching wildlife.
But don't just take our word for it - Ocean Safaris has been recognized with several awards for excellence in tourism and environmental stewardship. We're proud members of Fair Trade Tourism South Africa, which means we meet rigorous standards for sustainability and social responsibility.
So if you're looking for an unforgettable adventure in Plettenberg Bay, book a tour with Ocean Safaris today! You'll get up close to some of the world's most fascinating creatures while supporting responsible tourism practices.
