Not enough signs...didn't know there were 2 entrances. Not correct info about feeding the giraffes. VERY DISAPPOINTING...that was the reason we came. Got over charged for a soda...when asked worker how much they were...he mumbled..."I dunno"....needed handicapped parking...directed the other way. Took 2 hours to find out way out...with the map. Not coming back.

Preferred over SF zoo. Beautiful views of SF from the zoo. Easy parking when you arrive when the zoo opens. All the major animals. Hilly for pushing strollers, so don't attempt this if you're not in decent walking condition. I do wish that the rides (train, carousel etc) didn't cost a bunch of extra money, but it's nice to have those things there either way.

Wasn't very impresssed. It wasn't very hadicapped friendly for a person such as I. Walking trails were VERY UNEVEN and dirty with leaves and branches. Was extremely difficult for a wheelchair person to get around without help. Animal collection was fair. Loved the Meercat exhibit because you could see them fairly upclose. They were certainly well fed!!! Felt some of the cages were too small and unkempt, poorly constructed, and the visibility to the animals was poor as well. All in all I would rate it a 5 out of 10. Sorry, but I won't be planning a return trip anytime soon.

Decent zoo if you live in the Bay area, I would not consider it worth if you are only visiting the area. I kind of like the diversity but not the layout nor the side cost of some attraction.

Visited in Aug 2020 a few weeks after reopening. Purchased timed-entry tickets and parking online ahead of our visit, as currently required. Went with a senior, who appreciated the many benches for resting on. Pleasant employees. Employees and visitors followed the mask requirement. This was our first visit using the gondola to the California Trail loop. Beautiful addition to the zoo! Great to see local animals as well as ones from around the world. Some of the "welcome back" messages on whiteboards throughout the park named individual animals; I would love to have that information posted more permanently for the larger/older/easy to identify animals. Some areas of the zoo are currently closed (amusement park, petting zoo), so check the website if you have a particular destination in mind.

Almost double the price as fresno zoo and half as good but they are a nonprofit organization that helps preserve wildlife around the world with part of the admissions tickets I believe.

Very nice zoo with great views. Most animals have nice, large enclosures. Also a good variety of animals. Only negative of this is that there aren't very good view points to see the animals in some enclosures. The gondola was a nice ride and while the wolf habitat is currently closed, that section of the zoo is still definitely worth seeing. A lot better than I expected.

Awesome place to spend some time with the family. The Deluxe membership is very well worth the money, memberships include parking as well. Even if the Zoo is at full capacity , it is still a pleasant place to be.

Cuz of covid, it wasnt to busy or crowded. animals looked relaxed and happy, (except the chimps, they sounded like they were going crazy). some of the workers at the orange sky cars were rude and didnt look like they were doing to much. only giving this place 5 stars because of the blonde girl there. she made my sons day and was so nice. she was their running around helping everyone and still was rael nice. another downside was the price of the food and the train isnt open any more..

They have horrible management. When we tried to go today they redirected us to park on the side of the road when they had ample parking. Then we got to the entrance they had a horrendous setup to get in. The line was outrageous and it would have taken an hour just to get in when they only had 2 hours left of being open. Not worth the effort.
