NYChessKids is a fantastic company that offers excellent chess classes. The instructors are friendly, patient, and skilled. I particularly enjoyed the interactive lessons and the opportunity to play against other students. I highly recommend NYChessKids!

We were lucky to find this NYChessKids. Overall, my son, my wife, and I are satisfied with their classes, tournaments, and camps. Most importantly, it is fast growing. The afterschool class programs are expanded across many more schools, their tournaments and camps are attracting more and more kids. The teachers are nice and the founder is very thorough and eager to keep going forward. He is very proactive in answering any concerns or questions, as well. Also, they are active in incorporating new technologies, so they develop many new features in their web site and online chess programs, which can give kids more choices. All in all, a good and complete chess program.
It's good for kids to learn games. But I don't want them to play games (and/or chess games) on computers.
A "medical documentation in the form of a letter" is required to "get a full credit that can be used in future event when cancellations happen seven days before" a nychesskids camp/afterschool. "Cancellations during the seven days before the week" of a nychesskids camp/afterschool will be "refunded with a deduction of 25%".
Open during school holidays and the teachers were extremely nice to my kids. If you want your kids to learn chess in a relax environment where they can take breaks and have fun in other ways then this is for you. This isn t an outdoor camp for exercise. It s pretty much for kids who don t mind being indoors and like to be independent. My kids have attended almost every camp in the city from Asphalt Greene to Soccer Superstars to NYKids Club to Church Street Music. I like to mix it up bc it keeps them engaged. They had fun here and it was stress free. There is a long flight of stairs to the classroom so not appropriate for those that have a stroller.
