Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) is a non-profit organization that has been working tirelessly to eradicate poverty and injustice around the world for over 70 years. Founded in 1947, NCA has grown into one of the largest humanitarian organizations in Norway, with a presence in over 30 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.
At NCA, we believe that everyone deserves access to basic human rights such as food, water, shelter, education and healthcare. We work with people and organizations around the world to help those whose needs are greatest - regardless of race, creed or political or religious affiliation.
Our mission is simple: to empower people living in poverty by providing them with the tools they need to improve their lives. We do this by supporting local communities through sustainable development projects that focus on areas such as education, health care services and economic empowerment.
Education is one of our key focus areas because we believe it is essential for breaking the cycle of poverty. Through our education programs we provide children with access to quality education so they can develop skills that will enable them to secure better jobs in future. We also support adult literacy programs so parents can read books with their children at home.
In addition to education programs we also provide healthcare services through our clinics which offer medical treatment for common illnesses like malaria and HIV/AIDS. Our clinics also offer maternal health services including prenatal care for expectant mothers.
Economic empowerment is another area where NCA focuses its efforts. By providing small loans or grants we help entrepreneurs start businesses which create jobs within their communities thereby reducing unemployment rates while increasing income levels among families living below poverty line.
