Our son had a fantastic year at NIA. Dr. Walo did a fabulous job with his medications, and he had very good therapists, particularly Amanda O'Boyle. The rest of the staff treated him extremely well too. They all genuinely seemed to care for our son and for his well being. We would highly recommend NIA to any family with a child struggling with autism and/or mental health issues.

I have just started working here at NIA and am happy to see a ton of effort being put into changing up the place. There are amazing people on staff and in management, they are handling the kids moments of crisis with therapy-based techniques and the residents have already won over my heart. It is definitely a job where you go home at the end of the day feeling like you ve given back and made a difference. I truly believe if we can get more incredible staff working here that we can make this place reach its potential.

Dishonest and despicable in every way. I would not recommend to families who care about their family or friends suffering with mental health issues. This facility would only serve as an absolute last option on earth to send someone to. It is constantly under staffed and unsafe for the residents to stay there due to their lack of professionalism and poor management. When something happens to a resident there management hides away from the parents and family members when the parents or family members ask what happened to the resident and when they are finally caught and have to answer to what happens management intentionally lies to the family and police/child protective service workers and puts the blame on what staff was clocked in that day instead of being honest and trying to find out what actually happened to the individual.

I use to be a former resident that lived here my treatment stay was very horrible I went thru a hard time I was mistreated unfairly the staff the staff they did things to like lie and sweep mess under the rug only thing staff care about is paycheck at the of the day they have no values or heart for people's love one's the uper treatment sources and staff crew did dirty I'm just glad that I'am doing tremendously better I've become a long way with being removed/discharge from NIA thanks too the clinician social worker Social worker Scott Cox for doing me a favor on finding me a better placement I couldn't stand scott he was very mean and harsh towards me but it's all good now I'm in a better different head space I don't dwell or backtrack on my past I've left all the mess that I had going on at them NIA. Doors and Thanks too lexie Bedford the residential staff member that falsely accused me thanks alot too lexie Bedford who hurt my feelings she played fake and betrayed me the whole time of my treatment stay I experience alot of trauma living at NIA. I learned how too have tough skin and let the past be the past I wish Nia the best luck NIA. They hurt alot mentally and physically and emotionally they always penalize and play favoritism towards me they use my past and background to throw in my face and tease me about it the staff and treatment sources including the uper management they dragged me thru the mud they talked about me in dregratein horrible discussing way they don't treat my needs equally and fair and thanks too doctor walo who drugged me up medication

My son is learning how to be institutionalized. His "therapist" does not regularly communicate with me. We have a grant that pays these people nearly 100K a year for his treatment. My son says the food here is so horrible it's inedible most days. He has been forced to live with another male who was low functioning autism.. my son was subjected to this boy's frequent urination when the staff failed to put a diaper on him... and when the boy was to shower there would be urine all over that area as well not cleaned. Now that my son has been there 6 months. Little to no therapy has been implemented. I am glad some have had results. I miss my son and want him home and happy. This has caused a degree of separation I never knew between us.

I don't blame kids for wanting to elope from this place. A number of the staff are toxic from my experience, and the environment is not conducive to growth and thriving for children. Based on my experience 2018-2019.

This facility is real negligent, not very forthcoming with information that should be shared with parents. Unprofessional, Unexplained marks on your child multiple investigations I would definitely do your research before allowing your child to be addmitted into this facility.
