Always a good experience at this library, my favourite one in Vancouver!
Always a good experience at this library, my favourite one in Vancouver!
Very good library with a sleek modern look and a wide selection of books to choose from, the computers are relatively old and not that playful for the children to use, however there is a lot of open space and plenty of chairs to sit in a read or write (or even get your homework done) but do expect the chairs to often be not available to sit on and there can be a lot of noisemakers there especially after school lets out
Great service and selection! Love the modern building too.
Very Modern library with pleasant staff. if you cant find your book to borrow from the warehouse, Staff will order for you if there is demand for it. Other than that you don't need any help from staff to borrow or return products because everything is automatic self service there.
Library has the silent zone with almost 50 seats and spectacular area to study.
I love this Library, very modern, the staff are very helpful and friendly, great atmosphere.
A wonderful community library. Helpful staff, wide collection of books and great audio-visual facilities etc.
Welcoming staff, great environment and wonderful collection of book and movies, specially loving the Silent Room is the perfect place for study, however, the major problem is the internet connection, in the morning it is usable to some degree but in the afternoon the internet connection is so slow that barely usable, beside that it's great place.
It's a clean library because it doesn't allow homeless people.
Good place for everyone.
This library is very modern also contains a parking but you have to pay for it but you can find parking like a block or two away from the library it is very clean and nice. it's usually quiet but very crowded it has programs for kids from Age 5 to 60 there's a lot of classes for old people and Young and teens and even kid. there's also a teen room which is my favorite place where you can go there and hang out with your friends and you can talk since they close the door so that sound doesn't go out. there's also a console that you could play games with your friends on some specific days.
Over all this place is great and anyone from any age from any race could go there and have a great time.
This is one of the best libraries on the North Shore. So many new books. A generous offering of magazines, in a pleasing display. The whole set up and ambiance is geared to please patrons. The staff are all courteous and so helpful. An example: yesterday, I went to get a novel I wanted to read. When I got to the library, I realized that I had left at home my note with the title and author. I couldn't remember it, except for the first word of the title which was unusual. The title starts with "And . . ."
I approached the librarian, Michael, on the 2nd floor and explained my problem. He went out of his way to help me find the book by doing a search and really going the extra mile to try to figure out which book it was that starts with "And". Such caring service. We are blessed to have such a library with such fine staff. Thank you.
Great place. Very wide book selections.
Computers could be more powerful and better.
The plaza outside the library is very well used - lots of outdoor seating where you can easily physically distance - there is a small cafe that has ice cream, smoothies great coffee etc. They are only open M-F closed on weekends but food is good and prices are reasonable
Overall, almost everything about this library is great. Clean atmosphere, good location, friendly staff, large variety of seating areas. However, the speed of the internet connection is a serious problem. Connection is consistent, but EXTREMELY SLOW. I can barely stream an online course in 140p let alone go about general browsing on numerous occasions. In this day and age a reliable connection is a satisfactory requirement for any public library in my opinion. It's almost 2019. I get faster connections in Starbucks, Whole Foods, Shaw wireless, pretty much everywhere else. To be honest I'm surprised how anyone is able to get any online work done here.
It's a beautiful building, with knowledgeable, approachable staff. They have great programs (I took an Excel Introduction course with them). The library is a wonderful resource, and I'm so grateful to have it.
They have great selection of books, medias including DVDs and video games.
Be sure to return them on time simce overdue costs are overwhelming..
Staffs are Pleasant and are always there to serve your needs.
Good area with so many sources but not trained staff in kids depatdepar.
However, the staff in adult departments ara working in kids department too. I mean it looks there is not any specific requirements for working with kids in this library.
I prefer the other libraries in North Vancouver such as Lynne valley library.
The most pleasant and helpful staff I've ever dealt with.
So cosy and peaceful you might fall asleep while reading or studying!
THE BEST PLACE EVER!!! THE BEST LIBRARY IN THE WORLD! THAT SO GOOD
Staff is very helpful and friendly.
Great library!
North Vancouver City Library provides you with a great amount of books and media you can borrow. The collection of books in Persian language is also good. Here as well you can enjoy the benefits of BC One Card program. The studying area specially the silent study section is very good and there are many individual desks available, well they are in high demand if you arrive late you might not get the chance to sit there. One thing I can ask for improvement here is the internet speed. It is really frustrating and slow. I have been to more crowded libraries such as downtown public library and there was no issue like this. One of the best things here is that it opens at 9:00 am where most of the public libraries start at 10:00 am.
I was sitting outside of city plaza not the library by city hall
Good selection! Love the multiple floors. You could get lost in there. Staff are super friendly and helpful too.
That's amazing place for study and relaxing with very helpful & kind staff. I haven't seen such this kind of nice library in BC
The staff and security are ill equipped to deal with potential problems- or maybe it's just that they're lazy and unwilling to do any real work. Noisy patrons- I've seen passed out drunks at computers, people who take their socks off and sit barefoot, near fights and shouting matches. Pared with a contemptuous, haughty, and complacent staff who do nothing about noise or mess, I found this library to be among the poorest in Metro Vancouver. Oh, and they can't handle criticism of any kind.
Nice and quiet, okay selection for the size of the library. Can return books in Lynn Valley branch if needed.
Has desks to study, computers to use.
Parking exists.
Nice library with plenty of seating and a decent range of books. Free parking is limited to several 15 minute spaces underneath accessed on 14th via Chesterfield
Very clean and modern, excellent layout. Something for everyone, families with little ones, students, researchers, bookworms... Staff is always very helpful and generous with their time and knowledge.
Welcoming and helpful staff. Great place to read and study. Beautiful outdoor area
Friendly atmosphere and great staff and nice people
Great library! Staff is very helpful and friendly. Free 15 minute parking underground makes it very convenient as well.
Nice building, clean ,neat and spacious. Unlike Vancouver couterparts, here usually very quiet. Lots of books here.
Great place with lots of different books from different languages and cultures!
Program organisers of library has different workshops and classes for arts , music etc that are good for all children. Some times we take our students to this library and they have 2 valuable hours there and they enjoy a lot.
Great location, caring and friendly staff, variety of seating area makes the library a comfortable place for everyone.
More "modern" looking library I've been in; good for studying if it's somewhere you like studying in. It can get noisy depending on the the area you're trying to study and the amount of people within your study area. I've also experienced really good staff support in the past if I had questions that they had answers to.
There's WiFi too.
Staff was very kind and guest oriented. Had Laura at the front desk walk me through steps in a long call.
You have a lot of options to study in different halls. This library has won valuable awards in recent years like LEED Gold Certification, 2015 and so on.
so many books, comfortable space, kine staff~ I m satisfied here.
A lovely quiet place for study, for kids' play and enjoying the moments in the library outdoor
Well laid out library. Top floor has both indoor and outdoor study desks, with great big windows and lots of light. Wifi is decent and staff are nice and inviting. Watch out for street parking - they patrol this area heavy!
A very clean library. This library is centrally located as well. I spent the whole day here and there were nice eateries to feast from - all within walking distance. There are three floors to choose from, and there's even a patio. I enjoyed reading, working on my computer, and taking in the city while being on the patio. This library is gorgeous! The staff is also great. This library even has a used book shopping section (there might have been a nominal fee). The books constantly change, so you are introduced to a variety of authors. Love this library!
Great Library, BUT
No Free Parking in the building,
No AC in silent study room.
Everything else is absolutely great, love this location!
Quiet place to read and study, with wide range of books and resources
good selection of books, clean space, large amount of space, close to public buses. 4 stars only because you have to pay for parking which is a tad ridiculous.
