Can not fault breast services, everyone was kind and friendly and made my visits relaxed. All those that work in Breast services should be proud of the job they do as they all give 100% above and beyond their duties. Thank You

This place deserves no stars. The past 2 days I have been up to visit a patient on both times of my arrival they had had an accident and messed themselves their was no staff around to help them or even clean the mess. Their buzzer was ringing for 15 minutes to get no response. After me asking 3 times for help they finally helped. Then second day their was no staff at all available to help. Customer service is the shop was so rude I felt uncomfortable and the nurses just speak to people like they hate their jobs. Disgraceful place
Went to accident and emergency tonight they told me to go to urgent care. Went to the desk and gave my details, she told me to wait until I was called. Once called was taken to a room was spoken to like I was a child being told off. Was asked wht I went to A&E first. She then went on to continue telling me off saying that was for emergencies only. Seemingly broken ribs don't count. I was told why didn't I ring 111. I explained that I didn't know I had to. She continued talking to me like a child and said i wouldn't be seen until over 2 hours later due to me not ringing 111. A total disgrace the way this lady spoke and acted towards me. Firstly why didn't the lady on the desk tell me I needed to ring 111 and secondly why did the nurse continue to speak to me like I was a child and telling me off. I am absolutely fuming.
Unclean; noisy; old/missing equipment; angry staff; over-use of agency staff who did not know the patients or hospital well. Mixing of dementia patients in with other patients causing fear and distress. They lost my luggage; took me to wrong Ward. One good point: the doctors (Bhatia & Miguel Hernandez) were knowledgable and experienced and were popular with their patients.
Ward 23 and the delivery ward were amazing in helping our Pre-term twins overcome some daunting times. Helpful understanding and extremely accommodating in going all out to make me and my wife at ease.
Visited urgent care and staff were friendly and helpful. Overall it was a positive experience. Staff gave us time, answered our questions and put us at ease. Thank you to all the staff.
The care I received when I was took to surgical assessment was great. Consultant and his juniors doctor were fantastic. Then transferred to ward 30.. day staff were great. Night staff was not.. only 1 nurse was nice who was coming to do obs. My hand ballooned up with cannula and the nurse in charge at night pulled it out and just left it hanging on the drip, nothing said or done about my hand which was so swollen and sore I could not bend fingers. She had such a bad attitude. Why do a job caring for people, if they can not be bothered.
The breast clinic was excellent. I had a mammogram, ultrasound scan, a breast cyst drained and saw a consultant in an hour. All the staff I met was very helpful, friendly and kind. Very impressive...Thank you.
2 years ago they put a do not resusitate ate order on my dad without his or family knowledge after complaining to chief exec was told never happen again and be discussed with family yesterday they done it to my mother in law without consent or ours just before transferred to Hartlepool stating her co morbidities make her unsuitable for CPR she has mild COPD partially sighted hard of hearing and 82 seems like they want older people to die if you have relative here ask if DNR on file before it's too late I agree with euthanasia in certain circumstances but let's hope never legal the way this hospital abuses DNR maybe it's to save cash to extend the chief execs mini golf coarse in his office
As and add on to my previous note regarding orthopaedic dept I still have had no call back . Now had to ring the consultants secretary who was amazing and very professional. I found out that despite my calls and messages I was still listed as a DNA. Please...if you put a number on a letter to address appointment changes at least answer it? It's this causing the waste of appointment time and not your patients!
I was admitted to the Hospital for another occasion was was taken straight to A & E, seen promptly and transferred the EAU ward for observations. I was then transferred to award 36 for outstanding treatment .
All the staff I encountered North Tees - Doctors , Nurses , Porter s , Reception staff , Security staff , assistants on the wards we re very polite all time and they all treated me the utmost care , compassion and professionalism.
Can you please on my thanks to all concerned and my sincere gratitude.
total waste of time on nights the staff are full off youg staff just bothered about looking at there smart phones and giving there eyes to the young male patients
Mixed reviews for this hospital really. Firstly the staff have always been great and we were seen very quickly after an appointment was booked over 111. Really cannot fault the staff. The issue seems to come from the running of the hospital, the parking situation is pretty poor and overpriced plus the machines don't take notes or cards in 2018! If you need to go to hospital in the area I would strongly recommend James cook as it is a far more modern hospital with much better facilities.
Not good at time management at all my appointment was at 11am and on arrival they didn't see me till 50mins to 1hr after the appointment was made plus I don't like were they gave put the walker clinuc flr termination as the mortuary is just 2 floors below it and tbh I don't wish too go in the lift were the dead are taken it seems not right at all ...... sorry but this isn't the best hospital at all big let down!!!!!
My husband was seen to very swiftly after making an appointment via 111 by the walk in clinic. It was busy but he wasn't too late in meeting his appointment time. Parking here is a bit strange though I would advise people to make sure they enter correct parking reference for their car park when paying parking eye to avoid any unexpected fine even though you have paid. Anything like that though can be resolved by speaking to relevant staff at hospital who can intervene on your behalf. Very helpful
Epac department and all the departments that deal with pregnancy were absolutely helpful during our complicated pregnancy. Being this our first pregnancy and loved ones far away, everything seemed a lesson. North tees hospital staff been so helpful that they made our lives a lot easier from professional to moral support. Thanks to all of you including women outpatients, X-ray department and Epac!
THIS NEEDS TO BE - * !!! Appalling service, appalling treatment, misdiagnosis which resulted in being blue lighted into James Cook where I was in ITU for 12 days and I now have permanent lung damage due to their incompetence. Not for the first time either broken ankle in two places straightened without pain relief!! was told no operation needed well guess what 3 operations later !!!! (done at James Cook!!) Lost my cancer result which then resulted in a delay in the diagnosis which was that in fact I did indeed have cancer and if this had been sorted within the two weeks like it was supposed to be I might not have had to go through the operations, chemotherapy etc. THIS HOSPITAL KILLS STAY AWAY !!!
Had a small procedure in the Levin Unit and would just like to say all the staff from the Receptionist to the Nurses and Specialists etc were lovely and couldn't do enough.
Now my daughter is settled in bed I thought it would be the best time to write and say thank you to all the amazing staff on your children's ward.
The care and affection they gave my daughter (and me) over the last 5 days has been fantastic. I can't remember all their names but a special thanks to Alison and Jo, you both made the first 2 days, when she was at her worst, easier than I could have imagined from making me a cuppa, to answering questions, to supporting us through the nights (Thanks Jo). Your caring and friendly natures were just what we needed. I know my daughter cried and got upset when anyone came in her room, she's not like that all the time honest, ask the nurses who discharged her Anyway thanks again for all your care and help. We appreciate everything you did for us and I for one certainly won't forget you.
Easy to find, the staff very rude, n the room my uncle was in was discusting the bin over filled rubbish on the floor bed sheets dirty n covered in blood and plasters that were took off him put on the bed absolutely appalling
Highly recommend got sent by 111 because i had an swollen throat turns out it was tonsillitis so i had to be booked to to see the doctor my appointment was seen 15 minutes early and helpful doctor who was in room 1 hope he gets to see this message because hes made my nigbt alot better and i can finally get some sleep Thanks again
This hospital is old dark and depressing and should be demolished as soon as possible what have the people of teeside done to deserve a third world hospital
I attended day case unit yesterday and cannot fault the care I received. The nurses and support workers on the unit were efficient and caring. Not my usual hospital but no complaints at all.
I visited Outpatients today and found the reception staff efficient, social distancing measures are in place and guidance rules are easy to follow. The staff in the Gynacology dept (a Female Doctor and two Nurses) were friendly, helpful and made me feel at ease, making my appointment a pleasant one
Beware of Parking Eye cowboys operating this hospital s car park No parking machines would accept payment, no staff on hand to assist, now being taken to court by Parking Eye.
Took my son who hurt his leg when falling over. There weren't any visible signs of injury (which says to me that the injury is internal), but the doctor/nurse was not able to carry out basic diagnosis skills, and so my 1.5 year old now has permanent damage to his hip because it was not treated in time. Hell even I managed to diagnose him using a Google search lol! Who trained these fools?
was treated at this hospital and have stayed there as a patient a few times the last time was about the last 9 months for Chemotherapy and Cancer treatment with the very kind help from the doctors and nurses cleaners and helpers at this hospital my self and other patients and the kind words that where given to us by all that worked at the hospital was every bit as good as medicine making my self and others relaxed and happy and at all times and was told one day that i had been cured of my cancer treatment and believe it was due to the way i was kindly treated at this lovely clean hospital and cant thank them enough for curing myself
Total professionals. I was in and out within the hour to put my mind at rest. To be honest I felt as though I was wasting their time but I was reassured I was not. I was told twice apologising for the wait which was not needed. Thouroughly impressed. Thank you. Sarah Metcalfe
Had couple of reasons to attend the hospital recently.Firstly the stroke unit last year.Amazing treatment and superb aftercare.Have also more recently had CT scan and colonoscopy.Very caring staff. The Dr we saw at outpatient follow up was so lovely.A really good manner with her patient.
An ambulance attended my wife and was very good and efficient dealing with her at home however they decided she should be taken to North Tees to be checked over .I followed the ambulance and my wife was in the A and E waitng room room in More
Friendly and helpful staff, I have always found them very professional when I have attended appointments, from the receptionist to the Nurses, Radiotherapy Physio and Drs, I also must add the outpatients have always been clean and tidy and the Portering staff friendly, I appreciate this is only my opinion but I can only speak as I find.
Urgent care service was appalling. Visited twice within a few days, was given two different diagnoses without any tests being carried. I explained I weren t getting any pain relief and the symptoms weren t easing, instead I was given advice and brushed off. Followed there advice for 2 weeks and still no improvement. Visited the Hartlepool urgent care centre who actually carried out tests, gave me a referral and medication, more importantly they gave me an accurate diagnosis which was different to the one North Tees given me. With the words from the doctor being I don t know why they this wasn t picked up.
Disgusting place my step daughter has been in and out for a year and they still can't say what is wrong keep her overnight and send her back home. Even though she has been In agony with pain around her kidneys. Won't be taking her back be going to James cook avoid the place
Have just returned from the Endoscopy unit at North Tees hospital, the team in the unit are all so very kind and caring , big thanks to Dr David Beaton and the team in the theatre where the investigations are done . They are so kind and helpful and explain everything they are doing and put you at ease wonderfully ! Big thanks to all !
The receptionists on the A & E department are the most uncaring I have ever come across I waited so long in a freezing cold waiting room after asking for anti sickness and pain relief I gave up in the end When I said I would rather be unwell at home and warm than freezing and unwell - ended up so unwell I ended up getting a taxi to get treatment elsewhere I'm disgusted and this is not the first bad encounter - if you need medical attention go elsewhere I can't believe what a waste of tax payers money it is
Every person I asked for directions, help or assistance was brilliant. The nurses and Dr's were excellent, thank you for your caring and professionalism
The staff at this hospital were amazing and very friendly my my cousin had an emergency last summer. Very caring and very efficient and a very welcoming hospital. Keep up the incredible work.
I was recently rushed into hospital unconscious and when I regained conscious I found that the staff were absolutely fabulous and I couldn't fault them at all !
Used A and E early hours Monday morning due to waking up and fainting, this as well as being pregnant, having a severe headache, light sensitivity and vomiting really worried me. Phoned 111 who advised an ambulance, had my partner take me in ASAP to reduce ambulance pressures. Booked in around 4am and told the reception and nursing staff that I was pregnant and had taken my maternity folder. Was seen quite quickly and had bloods taken. Informed this nurse I was pregnant. There was no real care or reassurance given by the night staff and that made me feel like I had done the wrong thing by going to A and E. I didn't feel comfortable. Overheard one nurse yelling another, she's told me she thinks she's pregnant. No I don't think I'm pregnant, I AM very pregnant!!. Day staff came on and this hadn't even been handed over.
However the above 5 stars is for the day staff. Amazing care and compassion from the nurse caring for me, I'm so regretful I didn't get her name. I was seen a few times by a doctor named Ami who was very very reassuring and made me feel very at ease. The care from all staff throughout the day was just amazing. It turned out that I was acctually really poorly and I'm very glad I went into A and E despite feeling bad when being spoken to by night staff.
Thank you so so much to your amazing day staff who made me laugh alot and supported me when I cried. Absolute top care received by all, Danielle x
Stayed in ward 33 for several days in August. All staff were excellent and helped keep spirits up despite the pain. They don't get the credit they deserve.
My son was admitted to ward 27 with platelet levels of 15 he had not had a drink of water in 4hrs and bed position right next to a toilet which smelt vile, found a member of staff just smirked when approach, my son signed himself out and she turned and said to him get yourself home and get a drink, I'm not leaving it at that he's very ill but it's nothing new with that hospital.
The parking eye is the biggest problem here. Totally abusing vulnerable people visiting the hospital with genuine illness or in a state of worry for someone close who may have been rushed in. This system has no allowances for people that More
A circus run by clowns - if ever there was a case for privatization in the NHS this trust has to be it. Operation has now been cancelled multiple times. First my bloods weren't right so they couldn't carry it out, then my bloods are right and because they are i may not need it, Theater diary to full, NHS staff on strike, consultant busy were just a few of the excuses. All this over a period of two months when i am on the so called "emergency list". Despite writing, phoning and asking face to face no one could even give me a date saying it could be days weeks or months after the latest cancellation.
husband in extreme back pain after accident, went to A&E and waited 5 hours to be seen by a doctor. This was due to an exceptionally busy night there but the staff were brilliant. He got pain meds very quickly and all staff were friendly, helpful and very professional. Thank you to everyone who helped us that night.
my uncle has been in ward 41 ive had to ask whats happening with regards treatment everyday none was ever forthcoming and as his next of kin i should have been informed all way down the line.Take tonight he was being discharged to a care home i asked to be rung when he had left and guess what i wasnt the care home hadnt even been informed he was on his way i did some of the staff were realy nice others gave immpression you were a nuicance not good and especialy for relatives when their loved ones are suffering with dementia suddenly
Did an excellent job calming me down in A&E. The staff also did an excellent job when my gran got referred to the oasis suite. The nurses kept checking that we were alright, and made us hot drinks, and brang us biscuits. The oasis suite is a very homely room. The seating area was especially nice.
My Husband was cared for over several months by the staff on Ward 25. I have the utmost praise for all the hard work, care , compassion and understanding the staff gave to my Husband. Thank you
Awful place to go to. Nurses on Ward 32 were rude and made fun of elderly patients. My dad was ill and was told he couldn't be mixed with other patients, yet they put him in with visitors and he had infection after infection in there. And when he was took in via ambulance for a bang on the head - he was confused and they thrusted a DNR contract in his face and would not give him treatment until he signed it. We learnt later on about it.
Also they give out details to his granddaughter (a random stranger - never clapped eyes on her before) about my dads illness, had to learn from a friend of my sister his illness and yet when I phoned they said they I had to present myself at the reception!!!!
Highly professional and friendly and always there to help we where there for 9 days and they looked after us so well thank you very much love from Halifax
My name is gwendoline cass I have just spent 11 days in ward 26 room 10 from going in North tees to coming home, the consultant nurses cleaners dinner girls could not have been nicer nothing was to much trouble and Ann macbride your scones and drink on a morning we all looked forward to your enthusiasm to help us pass the day with Christmas cards to drawing books our just to chat thank you is not enough but thank you. Now on a serious matter the abuse I seen and heard towards the nurses was a disgrace thy are NOT payed enough get the system sorted please again thank you all.
Had an appointment with my elderly father to have his catheter removed and to be tought Independent Self Dilation for at home. Sophia was very helpful and arranged monthly supplies of catheters. The hospital was very clean, with hand sanitiser in abundance. A few people not wearing masks or smoking on site but overall a good effort from most.
My partner went in for the internal camera with an appointment for 2pm, they have waited till gone 5pm to be seen! awful service and waiting times like no other hospital. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN be warned
Took my 85 year old mother to the urgent care unit, after an accident with the car door tore skin on her arm. The nurses who took care of her were exceptionally kind and professional. She was made to feel relaxed and of no trouble. Thank you.
Before xmas i fell down the stairs..backwards...i was uncon.for we dont know how long i shuffled n opend the front door.....i think i rang them again ...the lady said its ok they ne there ....I woke up in North tees....i cant score out of 10......they were 100000.....Brilliant care.
If there was a -1 urgent care would receive that. The way the Doctor spoke and treat my daughter today is disgusting. Not once was she asked if she had been tested for covid-19. She would not listen to what my daughter was trying to tell her and just dismissed her. Disgusting behaviour by a so called professional.
The service is completely appalling, a receptionist says a nurse will see us immediately, then the nurse tells us to go to urgent care where the was less people only to find out that we would have a 2 hour wait. This hospital and the NHS are an absolute joke.
