Bought a coupon during the last Chope sale for $15. With the coupon expiring, rushed to make an reservation for dinner. The atmosphere of the place was really chill. Seating was comfortable. The service staff strike me as welcoming and professional. They found my reservation, sat me down, explained the terms of the coupon to me expertly. Sadly, I didn't get to try their lamb chops, which were sold out. Ordered the pork chops (so hard to find good pork chops) and latte. The waiter laid out the utensils after sending my order. There was also free water which is awesome. The latte came shortly after. It was decent. Lacked a bit of fragrance but at least it was not bitter; plus the cream was nicely thick and frothy. The pork chop is the main reason why I'm giving this place full marks though. It was thick and succulent piece of pork. Cooked perfectly well, there was a nice sear while being super juicy inside. I love the accompanying potatoes. They had a nice thin crust on the outside while being soft in the middle, and seasoned to buttery perfection. The crisp and tangy coleslaw helped in resetting the taste buds once in a while. Will definitely come back and try their other stuff in the future.

Next to the 2 am desert bar in Holland V this is the best place in the world for Chocoholics. The chocolate martini is sinful. Oh my God the Tirimasu, holy Choco balls that's good. You have to some times wait a little while to be seated, but that only builds the anticipation! It's heaven on Earth. Go gorge yourself until you burst full of chocolate like that fat man in the Monty Python sketch, except you will be so blessed out won't even notice!

Really slow and bad service throughout...

Half of the things on the menu were not available. We ordered The Works, Steak and Eggs & Red Snapper. We had to call for the bill 3 times before it came and we waited quite awhile after paying the bill to get back our card, ended up going to the payment counter to collect it cause they were taking so long. We noticed several social distancing measures in place seasoning did not meet the food (except for the red snapper) and service didn t meet good standards.

1. All chocolate cake was not dense nor moist enough. The fudge had a weird texture, tasted rather cheap. 2. The s'mores was so-so, extremely sweet and masked any other flavours. 3.Salted caramel basically tasted like (bad) chocolate powder with a weird after taste. Would not recommend.

Came here on a Tuesday afternoon and there were several tables filled but mostly it s still empty. The food menu for week day isn t extensive but the food is executed well. Pork chop was SO good and tender. Flavorful to the max. Generous portion of fish too! Their drinks is a little on the pricey side for the size served but was chocolatey. Try the curry fries! Won t disappoint.

Excellent as always. Great service despite the crowds. Staff are attentive and friendly. Desserts are splendid and a dream come true for chocolate lovers. One-for-one pints of Asahi for those who drink.

This is a fabulous coffee shop (also serves lunch/dinner) in a busy but fun part of Tanjong Katong. Across from the place is a fun bar that also has a food court -like series of small restaurants. This coffee shop has a wide variety of pastries, chocolate cake etc. There was beautiful music and a great crowd. I went on a Sunday evening and plan to go again tonight (Monday). The manager was very friendly and gregarious. There are many other restaurants on the street serving a wide variety of cuisines (eg. German, Japanese etc).

Never experienced slower service. Ordered only a single slice of cake and ice cream but took half an hour. Staff black shirt filipino were SO rude as well. Hopefully the service and hospitality towards customers gets better. Let us know when it does.

Came here for some cakes but to my disappointment, the service staff was simply just rude & unattentive.. took ages just for 2 slices of cakes to come & when asked didnt even apologise. ZERO sense of URGENCY in the staff. I know doing ur take away orders are important, but there shouldnt be a need to wait more than 10 mins for just 2 slices of cakes isnt it? Simple outrageous and disgusting.

While other reviews have criticised the service here, I must say that in my instance, the staff were quick, attentive and efficient. I was impressed.

The cake, a chocolate cherry rum one, was excellent. Rich, smooth, and just the right amount of tartness. An excellent chocolate cake I would buy and buy again.

Nine Thirty is part of the Awfully Chocolate chain (famous for their chocolate cakes, chocolate ice-cream, and other chocolate treats). What makes Nine Thirty different is that they also serve non-chocolate dishes (e.g. french fries, fish and chips, burgers, pork chop, pasta, and much more). The drink selection is also great, with creative milk shakes (e.g. pandan with coconut) and chocolate drinks (e.g. chocolate latte and chocolate cappuccino) making this a great place to have a coffee/hot-chocolate and dessert.

Very slow and disorganized. Ordered a piece of cake, ice-cream and a cup of hot chocolate. Waited for half and hour and the food/ drink was still not served. Requested for the ice-cream and cake to be served and even went to the counter to self collect but was told there is table service. Despite multiple requests, the waiters still did not go and prepare my order. The big table that came after us already had their cakes served. Very disappointing. Have to walk out with nothing served (after more than half and hour). Will not go there again :(

highly recommended, cake with excellent composition of fudge, very fluffy snuff and amazing lick of the top. great wetness with hint of dark forest bluberry and slight strawberry infusion. feel of salty coast coconut peel and batterfly flick of the wings.

Awful lunch experience.

Awful lunch experience.
1. Waiter missed our order.
2. Food is no longer as good as it should be.

But.
1. The drinks are good.

Went there yesterday for lunch, and ordered the steaks and eggs, mushroom crepe, chocolate cappuccino and chocolate afogato. We waited for more than 30mins after the first waiter took our order, but we didn't get our drinks even when the table beside got their food. (they ordered later than us).

Our table was empty for a full 30 minutes and no one noticed. So we called the second waiter and he asked for our order again. Apparently they forgot our order. Seriously?

OK so we got our food and started eating. They said that the steaks will be medium, but it came out bloody red and I can't even cut it with my knife. Look at the picture i think my amazing iPhone camera brought out the redness in the steak. *Please compare that to the chart from Google, seems like it's not even medium rare.

The crepe felt soggy and lukewarm, can't compare to the standard when I first had it in Jun. Perhaps only during the first few days in COVID when there weren't so many customers could the restaurant keep up with the quality.

But their drinks are good. I have to give them a star for that.

Nice restaurant with outstanding friendly staff and they are open till 12am on Friday. Food and drinks are delicious. Truffles fries is crispy and we'll seasoned. Mac and cheese with bacon, children favorite. Tried their tiramisu, nice container which can be taken home, butterscotch chocolate brownie was good but overly rich for me. Pasta with prawns and crabmeat, slightly oily. Iced chocolate milk was heaven.
For drivers, park at nearby katong square.
Lastly, toilet tap was leaking badly, hope they get it repaired soon, to save up the water

I've visited multiple times. Food is overpriced and not fantastic, and service is ridiculous - slow, and they size you up before deciding if you're worth their time. Come for dessert and drinks at the same time someone else comes for food, forget about getting any attention. When they finally deign to speak to you, they'll smile, but it won't reach their eyes. Don't ask them to explain menu items - they don't really care. They'll thank-you-goodbye you without looking up from what they're doing.

The only thing that will come fast is your bill. Don't bother asking for water if you come for coffee and dessert. You'll ask multiple waiters, sometimes the same waiter twice, they'll smile and sure-of-course you and still they'll forget.

Even if you order mains, service is lacklustre. Orders are inaccurate - steak comes almost well done when you request for medium rare, you'll be asked to move to accommodate more patrons, and forget about catching anyone's attention.

Their chocolate ice cream and chocolate drinks are good, but it still ends up an unpleasant experience.

Not for me. Keen to visit, busy, but sat down and hard a hard time ordering. After 20 mins, being told they don t have menu items you wanted is frustrating. Special boards up from the old menu also less than fun. Don t serve mineral water, cooler only, which may or may not be mains water. Unable to say which drinks had added sugar.

On the flip side, lovely ambiance and staff friendly enough, could just do with more of them during busy times or more flexibility in roles. Was told by one that they didn t take orders and assumed they had asked for someone who did. Assumed wrong.

Food did look lovely and enticing - just an unfortunate up front experience, so can t comment on how it tastes.

Ninethirty is Awfully chocolate's restaurant. A must try for amazing food. We had a variety of pasta (Mac and cheese and the prawn aglo olio) the salmon, the tandoori chicken and ninethirty breakfast with scramble. All the food was delicious. On the drinks menu, the chocolate with rum and cherry was so darn delicious. You can avoid the Turkish apple, the drink was very mediocre, please do not order it.

Our dessert was of course the highlight. A must try at the awfully chocolate franchise is the tiramisu and the chocolate cake. Why wouldn't you? The cake is cakey and light with great chocolate frosting and the tiramisu is just lovely fluffy and light. A brunch place that you must try while in Singapore.

This place is absolute chocolate heaven. Great attentive service by the staff especially one of the Pinoy service master with the tattoos. This place never fails to hit that sweet spot after dinner!

Portion sizes have shrunk dramatically. 20 dollars for a tiramisu that is a fraction of the size compared to my last visit. Plus ice cream scoop sizes were wildly inconsistent (I bought 3). Very disappointed and wouldn't recommend at all

Heh, only picture I managed to take because we were too hungry!
Anyways! We ordered the:
Curry fries - it's just seasoning in case you were wondering. Nothing super special about this. Not sure if the truffle fries would actually be more worth it since I have yet to try it?
Grilled pork chop - oh yes! The portion is huge and I actually really really like the salted cabbage! The pork chop was cooked perfectly and it was very fragrant.
Steak & eggs - the beef was of a pretty small portion. The doneness was also not what was expected (well, we weren't asked what level thou)

Good ambience for dates thou!

One of favorite locations for dessert. Highly recommended pretty much any of their chocolate desserts, but be sure to have space for them. They can be quite filling. Recently tried their main course menu as well and it did not disappoint, albeit a little pricy.

Food is good, but small portions and really expensive. Service was shockingly bad! Waiters just stood around and talked, and we had to ask repeatedly for anything (water, napkins, etc).

As previous review, their desserts are expensive such that they don't label the prices at all.
Didn't expect any tiramisu to be priced so expensive till i paid for it. $19.90 for a small tiramisu is way too exorbitant! And it was a takeaway too. Didnt even have strong alcohol in it. Wouldn't get a repeat customer from me.

I ordered a lychee slushies ($8) and was not impressed by it - was a bit too sugary for my taste. The staff was not attentive and hardly made you feel welcomed. The wifi works fine for the most part and the window seating was nice.

The cakes are always delicious. My favourite are Nutella Cake and Praline Cake. The place offers 1+1 on wine and beer, a huge variety of hot chocolate options. I highly recommend their Chocolate Martini, they are to die for.
All the waiters are very friendly, but unfortunately the place seems to be ubderstuffed, it takes a while to get their attention. The aircon is also way too strong, which makes the entire experience less enjoyable.

Wow. The chocolate is world class and the cakes are very good. Interesting that this a local company with their own blend of chocolate. A nice place to have a coffee break even if it's little more expensive than other coffee shops, think it can be worth the extra dollars. Go for quality people

First time here for lunch on a weekend. Prefer the corner/window seats for some natural light and away from the chatter of diners. The crunchy cabbage salad was lightly seasoned and delicious. Though the salmon dish was a good portion, vegetables would go better than the mash as a side. The scrambled eggs with 2 slices of toast (could improve with thicker slices) and hot dogs (tiny! I kid you not) need more work. Online menu needs to be updated. Attentive service.

Excellent service, even though they were all out of the favourite dessert picks. It was quite late, so not to blame them. Skinny hot chocolate was surprisingly good, and among other choices available, flour less chocolate cake was the best!
Will definitely be back.
