If you re super ready to learn Japanese and you al...

If you re super ready to learn Japanese and you already know some stuff this school is good for you. But if you re a slow learner like I am I feel like the school is the wrong choice for you. The teachers will not really cater to much to the fact that you need more time to learn. They will teach you like any other Japanese student. Like the website describes that they teach to foreign students, so I figured that they would take it a little bit slower but unfortunately that s actually not the case they still go at the same pace as a university or any other language school. I feel like I was deceived in many ways for different reasons. so if I was you I would ask many questions before going to the school. And if you feel like you re not getting all the answers that already should be... that s already a red flag not to pick this school. Do you more research and find what suits you because you don t want to be like me and move all the way over here, to feel like your whole life is comprised of just studying and trying to catch up. It s not a good feeling and it feels like you re drowning.

The school is great and the staffs and teachers is very helpful not only in the class but also giving information especially when first time come to Kyoto. and the teachers and staffs can speaks fluent english that's really help me when i first time come to Japan.

The lessons in the class is also help me to learn japanese from beginning, i like the daily speaking practice in the class beside grammar and reading lessons.

But, I can say the lessons level in this school is high enough for me, even i start from the beginner class. I ever had difficulty following lessons in class.

Overall, This school is good enough. But, recommend or not it's depends on what the purpose of learning Japanese. If for wanna be speaks Japanese fluently, get JLPT and further study at senmonggakkou, this school can be a choice.

I was attending language school here and I regret to say I cant recommend this place.

I was assualted while attending this place, got noticeably sick in class and the school didn't assist me. Its bizzare to me that they would pretend not to notice me getting sick. I got extremely sick and went home, I tried to contact them multiple times about it but they just didn't reply.

I'm still waiting for them to reply, its been months, all I want is an answer, did you notice me acting strange after I got attacked and what did I do, its important for health reasons

I would have loved to stay in kyoto longer. It is friendly, full of history and good food. I definitely recommend visiting or staying in Kyoto.

I went from being able to say almost nothing to be...

I went from being able to say almost nothing to being very comfortable speaking and having conversations in Japanese with my Japanese friends and strangers during my 9 months in Japan while studying at this school. I took the N4 wishing I had signed up for N3, as it was too easy. I can not say that for everyone who was there for the same time frame as me. If you re not ready to put work in, this school will keep going and it will not slow down for you. This is the Japanese way and it might just be the country that will not bow to laziness. I spent hours out of class studying every day and made every effort to make Japanese friends to continue using Japanese almost constantly, and it helped so much. I do not know if I would have had the same results had I not done so much work outside the classroom.

For the most part, the grammar and things we learn are useful in conversation. There are, like any class that follows a textbook, definetly things we learnt that Japanese would find unnatural. The perk of living in Japan while learning is your Japanese friends will help you with this.

The school is for the most part supportive and friendly and very helpful for things involving life in Japan. Many students did feel disregarded by the school in terms of the course though. The kanji tests are incessant and the test s kanji are not really taught so much in class. Many complained that the homework was too much. Not a problem if you re a hard worker. My problem was with placement. The teachers are always hearing you speak and use Japanese, yet when new semesters come around your class placement is ENTIRELY based on test scores. I spent my last 3 months feeling like I had wasted my money in a mind numbingly slow paced class. There were many others with complaints about being misplaced or class size suddenly becoming too large. Starting from the new semester I would definitely not give 4 star review.

As for location. It s great! The school is located in the heart of Kyoto city. The HEART. I had the time of my life, having access to all the excitement of downtown Kyoto just as school was over, and relaxing at Kamo river. It s really fun and convenient.

School is pretty penny pinching. Wouldn t use the AC until June, no WiFi, and the textbooks we received never came near breaking even with the textbook fee. At one point they told us if we wanted a textbook we had to buy it from them! The students the semester before had received it. The textbook fee never changed. Ridiculous.

The school also does many trips and activities. The cost isn t the best but also not terrible. I went to most and they were pretty fun, especially the ski trip.

Do I recommend this school? Yes and no.
Do you want to learn Japanese and are willing to put actual work and effort into learning this language?
Go for it. Make Japanese friends while you re at it and have the time of your life outside of school, you can.
Do you want to go to Japan to have fun and see this school as your visa to Japan?
Go find somewhere else to waste you and everyone s else's time.

I enrolled the school since spring 2019. The school located just near the center of Kyoto tourist attraction, Gion. I think it is the most busy area in Kyoto after Kyoto station so for any transportations access, it is so convenience, along with tons of restaurants, cafe, mall, konbini, supermarket around. You can easily find arubaito later here.

Each class at least has 20 students, taught by Japanese teacher who always tend to speak in Japanese to lead us get use to the language naturally. The classes are so lively with super efficient teaching method. You will never get bored while you keep mastering the language the school also arranging some outdoor events which we can attend during the semester.
