This is our second time in a month experiencing a disrespectful and discourteous staff at the Emergency Department registration desk. Both times I have taken my very ill father, who is a disabled veteran. Each time the staff has been extremely unhelpful and to be perfectly honest,, downright rude. Today, Brittany s behavior towards my mother and father was appalling. Both are in their 80s and she showed no compassion or respect that would be due to the elderly or a former US serviceman. This is shocking to me considering the fact that she is on the frontline and deals with very ill patients and anxious, frightened family members. The nursing and medical staff has always been great, but NWH desperately needs a more professional and sympathetic staff working at their Emergency Department registration desk. First impressions are extremely important, and Newton Wellesley Hospital fails miserably.

We visit Newton Wellesley Hospital annually to see Dr.Amita Bhatt for my children over 10yrs. She is an excellent doctor who does the eye exam on young children with fancy stuffed animals in her clinic. My kids enjoy the visit.

Wonderful Nurses, PA's and Doctors. Recently treated here because I had heart pain and sleep deprivation. While not able to find the exact cause, the staff showed top-notch attention and concern. Both the nurses and doctor that was attending to me checked on me multiple times and made me feel like I couldn't be in better hands.

I have absolutely nothing but positive to say about Dr Bedair and his staff. He took a knee which had been previously replaced unsuccessfully twice before and tried some different methods which seem to be working. He and his staff are extremely professional and warm at the same time. Don't know for sure yet but he may have pulled off a miracle.

I also must comment about the hospital as a whole. People who work there appear to enjoy their jobs. I'm sure there are problems, but the overall atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming. One would never find that in a hospital in Rhode Island where I am from.

Had an L5 fusion and all went great, but a huge thanks goes to Michelle of PAC2 in recovery. She is polite, friendly, knowledgeable, caring and made me feel comfortable and well taken care of. In short she is amazing!

Lack of care for my family member was almost criminal. I had gone to this hospital when it was so much better, years ago. It is a shell of its former self. Staff was rude, and dismissive. AVOID

Yesterday I had surgery here and I have nothing but positive things the say about my experience. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors that took such good care of me and made me feel comfortable during my stay in the hospital. The nurse even called me to say how I was feeling:)

The hospital was much better fifteen years ago. My father had surgery here recently and the lack of interest, attention and poor bedside manner by hospital staff is appalling. He needed a bed change after three days, and three hours later he was still waiting. My mother eventually requested sheets and a new gown, which the staff eagerly provided. He requested a pain med and a half a day later, he got one. When I visited, he was in need of another bed change and one of the staff suggested I change his gown, which I thought was inappropriate. He then requested a top sheet and the staff declined. I watched where they got the linens and took a top sheet for him but was unable to find a blanket. One nurse told me they would provide the linens, so I asked for a blanket. She told me she d take care of it. When we called later that night, he was still waiting . All the little and big things have been a battle, but mostly, the apathy of the staff is uncalled for. A nurse suggested he report his disagreement to his doctor, so he did and the doctor suggested he speak with the director of nurses, who was unavailable and later told him to talk with his doctor.

The only thing good things were the success of the surgery itself and one PA who showed genuine care. The other s leave much to be desired.

Has gone down hill since MGH and Brighams took over. Took my Father recently as he might have had a stroke, explained this to the nurses in the er after Waiting over 3 hours my dad finally snapped and left. Tried twice before we left to get a time or some kind of idea on how much longer it would be from the front desk but they didn t have any idea. If you have an emergency pick a different hospital
