Avoid Lifespan, the Newport Hospital or Aquidneck ...

Avoid Lifespan, the Newport Hospital or Aquidneck Radiologists! All they care is how much money they will make from you! An employee of the hospital called me to schedule an appointment for an MRI. I asked her if I will have to pay anything. She checked my plan (Blue Shield Blue Cross) and said that it won't cost me anything at all - $0 deductible. A month later on I got a bill for almost $400, and another one from Aquidneck Radiologists for $100, totaling the full amount of my deductible (I suspect that both companies are running a scheme together to exhaust patients' deductibles). Had I known that it will cost me that much, I would have declined the MRI. Patients have the right to know the cost of the care. Medical billing fraud should be punished!

6 months after my review I have noticed that Newport Hospital has started returning to its old ways. Sitting in the waiting room for many hours with a sick child while people who are laughing with friends hold rooms and delay the whole process. The is an overpriced walk-in

Healthy, first time father was told I cannot be with my wife for her 32 week ultrasound after having to miss the first ultrasound in April because of C19 regulations. RI is in phase 3, the governor of the state can protest shoulder to shoulder with 9,999 others without masks BUT myself a healthy person in their 30s is forced out of a once in a lifetime experience. I had my mask (N95), I was screened upon entrance, I used purell at every station, regardless the room must be sterilized whether its just my wife or my wife and I this is ridiculous already I understand trying to stay safe but let's use our heads we're talking about keeping a father from his wife in one of the most precious times of their lives.

I am so grateful that we have this rare gift Newport Hospital in our community. It is impeccable, lovely staff, outstanding doctors and I can't say enough good comments about the quality of care and attention that I received. Recently for necessary tests, I took comfort in the degree of protection against Covid 19 that the hospital maintains.

Very long wait in ER. My father, an 89 yo with respiratory distress, extreme fatigue and excessive bilateral edema was kept waiting 3 hours in the wait room sitting upright in an uncomfortable chair and then 2 hours additional in exam room before finally being admitted with assumed respiratory infection. Also in the wait room was every other sick person, including some with horrible coughs. Cleanliness was a concern. Something wet (soda? body fluids?) went unnoticed and when they finally sent someone to clean it up, the poor cleaning lady was using a cloth dust mop. Totally skeeved me out ( hope that thing went in trash or laundry and wasnt used again)

Just got back from a trip to the ER and was very happy with the service I received. They went above and beyond to ensure nothing was wrong with me. Everyone was incredibly kind and accommodating from the moment I arrived, until the moment I was discharged.

Went to the ER today because of pain from kidney stones. The nurses were super nice. Shoutout to Kaitlin who was a 21 year old transporter and was super kind to me when she brought me to the cat scan room. Young girls like her need to be kept around a hospital! Doctors were also super friendly, was so glad I had such a supportive staff taking care of me, with my family not being able to be there.
