Newmarket Jazz+ Festival Review

I've seen some pretty incredible bands at this festival over the years. I wasn't quite as happy with the festival this year when it leaned heavily toward country, but I always come away impressed with some band I've heard there that I didn't know before. I've discovered Jackie Richardson, KC Roberts & the Live Revolution, Stacey Kaniuk, Pretzel Logic, Oakland Stroke, Jordan Johns, and Eat a Peach at this festival, just to name a few. It's not *the best* "jazz" festival in the GTA (Barrie has stuck to jazz and is largely free), but I still look forward to it every summer and try to make it out for as much of the weekend as I can.

Went to the festival today, Sunday. It Was a waste of $20.00. I don't know how it was on Friday and Saturday. We were in and out in under 5 minutes today.

There is no comparison to the Markham Jazz Festival last weekend. First of all it was free and there was alot more to do and see.

A great reason to stay in Newmarket this weekend. Lot's of people in the friendly and new re-developed downtown of Newmarket. It's close to bike paths, a lake and lot's of restaurants. Mark it on your calendar
