Always wanted to go here because I heard great things and I wanted a killer pastrami sandwich. Went 2x got neither either time
Always wanted to go here because I heard great things and I wanted a killer pastrami sandwich. Went 2x got neither either time
You know it's a solid place when the manager sits down to hear a regular's story about his daughter. Plus the food was great!
Disappointing. Sandwiches good but service was very much lacking.
Always a favorite. The prices seem high...until you see the portions and then you understand. Best French Dip in town! Turkey Club BLT....whoaaaa bacon baby!
This is by far the worst place I have ever been. Talk about obnoxious owners. They never admit fault. I agree with Elizabeth who wrote a review about how nasty these people are. These owners brag that their food is trucked in from NY. No wonder the bacon is fatty and tough. Why would you buy beef from NY when there is the best beef right her in CO? Shows you the mentality of these owners. I go by this place quite a bit in my daily travels and I do mean I go right on by. These owners discriminate against all minorities and just people in general. They are rude and arrogant. My friend and I wanted to sit in a booth in front but we weren't allowed because we didn't fit the image of the nasty woman owner. And I do mean nasty and ugly. We got the same rude treatment from this woman owner as Elizabeth did when she complained about her glass of water. This woman owner took us to the furthest table in the back of the restaurant where we couldn't be seen or heard and the restaurant wasn't even half full. I'm sure Elizabeth didn't fit the image of the nasty, ugly woman owner, so the owner refused to comp the meal. I obviously don't know the full cost of the meal but it was worth it to the nasty, ugly woman owner to lose a customer? I know she lost two customers when my friend and I walked out. So that is 3 customers in one day the owner lost. And the owners post photos of all types of celebrities who supposedly ate there. When was the last time anyone saw anyone of star status there besides the owners who think they are star status? Do you think Elway from Elways would dine at this dive instead of his own fancy restaurant in Cherry Creek? Really, it's time these owners had a reality check. And in my daily travels past this dive I do notice there are less and less patrons in the parking lot. I also notice they are advertising for help. Could it be the help has realized they can do better elsewhere and have considerate bosses and owners? I hope so. these owners should go back to NY but they wouldn't make it there.
Amazing bagels, waitress nice, a little expensive though
The food was so good and the portions were so big. You differently get your money's worth.
Had a bagel with salmon on it. Was amazing. I will be back.
We've given this place three chances, and it just isn't getting any better. The sandwiches are generous, to be sure, but there's nothing exceptional about the quality of the food. For the prices they charge, I'd expect "organic" to be every third word. We tried the carrot cake and the chocolate cake for dessert. Both had the grainy, tasteless quality you find in gluten-free recipes, though they insist they aren't. The frosting tasted like cheap, out-of-the-can product. It's sad when a restaurant can't even get chocolate cake right. The servers are nice enough, but they don't add to the experience. They're utterly lack-luster and barely interested in your dining experience.I can see this place appealing to so some for the detached lack of attention from the staff, and I trust that those who praise it for being "just like a New York deli" are sincere. But as far as a great dining experience, there are plenty of other places that are more enjoyable to eat at.
Always the best for one or a crowd. Greatest beet soup in Denver!
Excellent Jewish Comfort Food With All Your Favorites !
Great place for a large deli sandwich we came for lunch at the breakfast looked amazing as well
I am so sad, I remember this place being really good. I happened to be in the neighborhood, as I live in north Denver and don't get down this way too often. 13$ for a Rueben sandwich, which was just terrible! It has LESS than a teaspoon of sauerkraut, dry, old bread, THICK AND FATTY corned beef. It was sliced too thick, and with the grain, so it was very tough. How can a deli screw up a Reuben?
I want to keep spending my money on independant restaurants, and not go to a chain for a sandwich. Honestly, don't you guys WANT business? I will never know if it gets better, as I will never return.
Consistently awesome. Been coming here for years. Never disappoints...
This place is nothing short of amazing! I make the drive from North Boulder when I want to be brought back home to my New York roots. Super friendly staff, great atmosphere and even better food!
Now I m craving a pastrami on rye!
Love the wait staff here. Friday night prime rib is great. Their cheese cake is fabulous.
I haven't seen any reviews for the cheeseburgers. Not sure why, they're delicious. Classic diner style.
The place feels like a cozy diner with friendly staff eager to take your order. The food is in large portions and very filling. I recommend the club sandwich. The menu can be a bit overwhelming since there are too many options to choose from and the food can be a bit pricey. If you're a heavy eater that doesn't mind spending a few extra bucks on your meal then this is the perfect place for you.
It's been awhile since I've been here, but the food was as great as I remember. Loved my open-faced Rueben. Good price s, too.
I had roast beef and pastrami..great..totally great but pricy
Really good NY style deli....pricey.....but worth the trip if you are craving pastrami and swiss or bagel and lox or any good deli sandwich or kinish...and do not forget a Black & white....huge ...and fresh! Delicious.
$65 for two sandwiches, shakes, and an order of fries. Fine, we're ordering on Christmas, I'll spend the money for decent food.
This was horrible. Dry bread, soggy fries, and nasty stringy + fatty meat that tasted like it just came off the discount shelf at Wal-Mart.
The shakes were alright though.
Very good service and food. Wish they had better maple syrup. Breakfast syrup was disapointing on otherwise good waffle.
Delicios best soup with potato and hard cooked egg!
Not really good at all. I ordered eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. Just edible.
Amazing portions and good service. If your looking for a Ruben fix or just a huge sandwich in general, this is the place!
Food was excellent, service was superb, I was part of a large group and only one item was missed, a side order of bacon, it turned out it wasn't needed. Location isn't bad but the new median is a obstacle if you need to go left.
Salmon was extremely dry, veggies were still raw, neither dish had any flavor.
Still sitting here, been over 30 minutes since our sandwiches came. I've. Been done eating for over 10minutes waters empty for 10 minutes. I just want my check and to leave.
I like the environment and the pastrami was awesome though service trash
Carpet flooring was filthy, sandwiches were not very good and our server was terrible.
So delicious. All of it. A real deli... So refreshing.
The best Rubin in town for sure. Everything else is good to.
Always a great place to eat. I've never had anything but excellent deli style food here.
Smelled horrible they were mopping the floors as we were eating a cold pastrami sandich thought it was supposed to be hot with melted cheese like in new york but was more like a cold sanwich only thing was good was the dr brown soda
Lots of meat in the sandwiches like a sandwich should be made
Friendly staff and good food. You get complementary bowl of pickle spears at your table which is a unique touch. Also it's an actual deli so you can buy meat and cheese to take with you. Open on Christmas day too. Pretty pricey for deli sandwiches.
My family love the feel of this place, and I love the pastrami! We'll be back to get the stuffed cabage too.
These guys are amazing. So impressed with their community support and service. We do an event at Ronald McDonald House Charity 3x's/year and Mel and his team prepare us amazing baked potatoes and deliver them at cost. We really appreciate the support for our local community and the GREAT FOOD! Thanks Guys!
Always enjoy our meals at New York Deli News- their brisket is amazing and I love their their stuffed cabbage. The service is solid and reminiscent of delis in NYC ;-)
If you are looking for the best Reuben on the face of the planet you will not go wrong getting it here. Amazing sandwiches and great service. This is the way all restaurants should be.
Very yummy!! Best Mac and cheese for the little one I have had in a while. nd Reuben was fabulous.. definitely worth it.
I have lived in Denver for 3 years now and am originally from Philly/NJ area. I had no idea this place existed until just recently and also found out that they serve PORKROLL, or tailored ham. So good and usually can only be found back East. Pleasant surprise and amazing food!!!
This place had some of the best pastrami I have ever tried. Price is kind of high, but you get top quality food. Highly recommend, if you have not tried this place.
We've been going here for years. Ever since they changed owners the place has been just so-so. They say they're open until 9 pm yet close their kitchen at 8 pm only allowing take out orders. The Bagel Deli and Zaidys look better everyday. NYDN...meh and feh!
The worst and most expensive Deli I have ever been. If they say chicken salad sandwich, they literally mean it. All I get in 11 bucks is chicken salad and lattuce in skimpy wheat bread. Not even a slice of cheese for 11 bucks. Extra toppings are 95 cents. I wpuld much rather buy chicken sald from Costco and make that sandwich myself for probably under 3 bucks. This is just basic sandwich, they even have some pathetic sandwiches for almost up to 20 bucks. It did not even taste any special... never planning to go there again...
I had a wonderful time there two of us went we both got matzo ball soup it was wonderful I got corned beef and Pastrami and swiss on rye and my friend got the large Club my goodness that is a lot of food but it was delicious and well worth it
Always great. The rare roast beef sandwich is the best.
Delicious food. Only reason for the 4 stars is because the prices. $15-$20 For a sandwich and a spoonful of potato salad is a little steep. They wouldn't get away with those prices in New York.
My breakfast was good. I guess my question is how often are the prices being raised? Everytime I go there is new pricing. Seriously.
Awful. Just don't go there. Horrible people own and run this joint. And that's what it is a dive.
I'm from the north east and was craving a good deli sandwich. This place was just like home. Fresh homemade rye bread and a great selection of deli fixings.
If there were an option for 6 stars I'd give it.
My brother and I found this gem on a "man I could go for a rueben" whim yesterday... 20 minutes later, and we are at the gates to what I could only assume was the gates to heaven. The front doors of New York Deli News.
As life long coloradoans, and denverites, I admit to being ashamed I didn't know about them prior.
I came in expecting a good rueben, what I got was perfection. Two grown men on the verge of tears, filled with a new meaning in life.
The meat, oh my lord the meat, was juicy, and perfectly cooked and cut, and stacked rocky mountain high.
The kraut was insane. Not too much, where it was slopping up the plate. Not too little to leave you wanting more.
The Russian dressing was killer. The rye was arguably the best I've ever had in my life. (Sorry grandma)
Ive always loved mustard.. like loved it.. thing is: I didn't know i was eating "bad" mustards before New York Deli News... but I now know what a GREAT Mustard tastes like. You could seriously drink this stuff.. perfecting tangy,, just enough spice, the PERFECT TEXTURE. I could write an entire Shakespearean play on how this mustard changed me to a better human. I got a tub to go. I digress.
we skipped the dessert for a second sandwhich...
28/10, you're going to want to go back. Heck, im going back for lunch today.
Took a special person here for her first time and she loved it
If you miss great deli food, look no more. The mushroom barley soup is my favorite
That sandwich was huge and tasty. The servers were helping each other to make sure all customers were taken care of.
This is a fantastic Deli. We have been coming here for years. The food is wonderful and the portions are very big, you will not come away from here hungry, to be sure. The service is always prompt and the food is served hot and fresh, or cold, depending on what you order. The deli is generally always full of customers.
Good food, good service, but why is the restroom for handicapped persons locked, necessitating an additional wait at the busy checkout counter for the key? Unnecessary, embarrassing, demeaning.
Quick, friendly service. The portions are huge. We usually each get a sandwich, but today we shared one since we had no way to keep our leftovers safe until we went home. We had plenty of food. The pickles are delicious and crisp.
Called to order bagels to go and was told by staff that we should come in, that to go orders weren t taking too long. We sent a family member across town with an order and when he arrived he was told they would not sell bagels to go. This was a major staff faux pas, and when we called to see why they refused to sell us the bagels the woman answering was incredibly rude and essentially told my daughter that we were lying and that none of her staff would say that. It s not the first time we encountered bad service. We recommend steering clear of NY Deli. You might try Rosenbergs.
This has been a favorite place in my family for many years. Whether you want a classic deli-style sandwich (pastrami, corned beef, beef tongue, or any combination thereof are all great choices) with a cel-ray soda, or something a little bit lighter like matzo ball soup, lox & eggs, stuffed cabbage, or whitefish, this is the place for it in Denver.
The French Dips are delicious, especially if you add provolone and a side of horseradish. And if you like coleslaw, they have some of the best in town.
The pastrami Eggs Benedict was one of the best things I've ever eaten.
