A terrific little theatre with an excellent production quality for the numerous shows I have seen here. The intimate and cosy atmosphere just adds to the ambience and really connects you with the performers/actors. We just saw Animal Farm, the large ensemble produced an entertaining production. One of the great thing being situated in Newtown is the number of places to go pre or post theatre for a drink or a meal.

Lovely local theatre in Newtown. Watched a fantastic performance of Animal Farm this weekend.
It's a great theatre space and definitely worth a visit. Social distancing all handled very well too. Drinks are available on site, which you can also take into the theatre. I'll be booking in to see the next show very soon!

Really like this venue as a local indi performance space. Good access including stair lift and the staff are doing very will with covid requirements. If the budget is tight choose thier thrifty Thursdays ticket options. Heaps of good food close and parking is manageable as long as you don't mind a walk plenty of buses and station close by.

Small informal theatre that puts on some great plays. Small bar with limited variety of drinks that are a tad expensive but are the going price for the area. Not much available to eat from the bar but the theatre is in the heart of Newtown so plenty of restaurants and bars to visit before or after the play.

A great small theatre in Newtown. I have seen quite a few shows here, and the one thing to remember is that if you are expecting a Broadway style budget you are at the wrong theatre.

The shows normally have only a few people and minimal sets but the effort and enthusiasm is 100%.

The bar is open before the show and you can take your drinks into the show. If you have a drink pre-show expect to be warm as the aircon never works in the lobby.

Great theatre. Unpretentious and staff are really friendly. Love the intimate venue, watched little miss sunshine and it was great night. Performers were fantastic. You get $20 tickets on Thursday so even better :)

Really nice community theatre. Very reasonable pricing and choice of shows are excellent. Only downside , the theatre itself has very poor air conditioning ( just a couple of wall air conditioners that you would normally see in a home lounge room) and gets pretty hot in there when full. Seats 148.

Overall it's ok. The front area is always packed as they have hardly any seating room, just some tall tables and bar stools around the place for people who get there early before a show (fair enough I suppose). The performances are hit and miss although for the most part are engaging and the sound/acoustics are very well done in that space. Overall would recommend checking it out if you're planning to be in Newtown. They're about half way between St Peter's and Newtown station (10-15 minutes from Sydney CBD). Prices are always ok (not dirt cheap, but never uber expensive) - which is nice in that it attracts a very mixed (uni student/professionals) crowd. Prices are around the $30-50 mark. Parking can be difficult - I'd recommend Alice street over the back streets of Iredale Street etc. Dress is casual to formal casual. Staff are very lovely.

The thing with a theatre is that it's not the actual theatre that is good/bad, it's the performers. Unfortunately the night I went, the performers were not so good, but 5 stars to the theatre anyway, we need to support the arts.

Very cute little theatre with really great shows. The staff are friendly and very helpful and the theatre is located near a lot of good bars, cafes and restaurants. Keep an eye out for shows being played there.
