The quality and commitment of the leadership team at New Leaf is exceptional. I am impressed by the quality of staff recruited, the organization's commitment to ensuring mental health services are accessible to all populations, and the patient-centered approach to their work.

New Leaf provides an enriching experience for college students in the Triangle Area. Volunteering has given me great insight to the clinical field. I would recommend New Leaf to anyone interested in gaining exposure to what it is like to work in a therapist office, non-profit, or any behavioral health profession.

Both my daughter and I had a wonderful experience at New Leaf. The staff are welcoming and it was a very comfortable and relaxed office. Both therapists that I had experience with there were very nice and extremely helpful. Bonus: they had evening hours and it was very easy to work around my daughter's school schedule.

My family and I enjoyed working with New Leaf and Dava Muserallo. The staff is warm and welcoming and we felt comfortable talking with Dava. It isn't always easy to talk about personal life events but I've learned how to better handle life and relationship challenges through my counseling experience here. I would highly recommend Dava and New Leaf to anyone looking for a positive therapy experience.

I have been working at New Leaf Behavioral Health for 6 months now and I don't have anything but good things to say about the administration. Dava and Patrick are committed to providing quality mental health care to the community and it shows. I have learned so much in the short time I have been there and look forward to learning so much more!

I have worked for New Leaf as an In-Home therapist for 6 months now. It has been a very positive experience for me overall. I feel the organization is very well run and committed to providing quality service for all of their clients. I feel personally I have grown a great deal from working with the leadership of this organization. I've truly had nothing but positive dealings with all of the leadership team and support staff. I'm grateful for the experience of working at New Leaf and hope that more individuals have the opportunity to utilize the wonderful services they provide.

I can't imagine a worse place to come for mental health services. The staff here, namely the leadership executive director and clinical director, are highly unethical and treat their employees and clients poorly. I cannot recommend people seeking services here. It's no wonder so many of their staff members are provisionally licensed.

I attempted to schedule an appointment, and unfortunately, I found it unusually difficult to convey an understanding of the nature of my symptoms, their frequency, or their effect on my life. I have never experienced this difficulty before when scheduling health related appointments and was very surprised at my difficulty in making myself understood. Also, the lack of appointment availability made it impossible for me to schedule an appointment. Because of these reasons, I will be taking my business and my health needs elsewhere.

When my therapist left the agency, she made every ...

When my therapist left the agency, she made every effort to transition me to another therapist at New Leaf. I, however, googled her name and found she was working at another practice. In my last session, I asked if I could come see her at her other location. She told me she was contractually bound not to take clients with her and she again reassured me, as she had repeatedly, that my needs could be met with another therapist at New Leaf. The following week, I contacted Patrick Malloy, the executive director to ask if he would consider waiving any non-compete, so I could continue to see my therapist, as I felt I was at a critical point in therapy. Rather then hear my request, Mr Malloy took the opportunity to berate my therapists "poor boundaries," and to make other disparaging remarks about her, including trying to force a bizarre narrative that she had tried to "turn me against" the agency. On top of that, he then had my therapist contact me and recite his party line, apologizing for her poor boundaries, for anything she said that reflected poorly on New Leaf (nothing) and telling me she could not continue to see me (she'd already said this). As long as Mr Malloy is affiliated with New Leaf, I won't be pursuing therapy there and will tell anyone and everyone I know to STAY AWAY. He certainly clarified that bashing an outgoing therapist is more of a priority to him then hearing out a client and considering my request.

Update: In regards to the cut and paste response posted below, New Leaf made no effort to hear me out or work with me. Malloy was rude and condescending. If this company truly valued their clients and reputation, Mr Malloy, their representative, would have conducted himself professionally or at least not like an uneducated jerk. Trash talking an outgoing therapist while refusing to even acknowledge my question are really two marks of someone who is insecure and unethical and should not be in a leadership role, in any business, much less the executive director in a helping field. Feedback was attempted to be given directly but Patrick Malloy was seemingly incapable of listening and instead was rude, insensitive and unprofessional.

Counseling here has been a great experience! The office staff has been welcoming and easy to work with , and my therapist Ashley has helped me get my anxiety under control. Plus...they have a dog at the office that is so friendly and cute! He makes me smile every time I see him for appointments.

Working with New Leaf has been very rewarding. Patrick and Dava have a strong passion for their mission to serve people who otherwise might not have access to affordable, quality mental health care.

I am a former volunteer who spent roughly two and a half years at New Leaf. Volunteering at New Leaf Behavioral Health was a fantastic experience. I loved working with Dava, Patrick, and the office staff. During my time at New Leaf I was able to work on a variety of projects, such as grant writing and quality assurance, as well as assist with the daily tasks that keep New Leaf running. My experience proved to me how important it is to make therapy accessible for everyone. I am motivated more than ever to pursue a career that will allow me to embody the mission of providing mental health services to underserved populations.

Where do I even begin? I worked here as a therapist for several months and during that time I saw so many front desk staff, admin and staff quit. I've never seen so much turnover ever, but I certainly understand why. Patrick and Dava have to be so of the most challenging people to work with. During my time there, I heard some of the most appalling things against minorities and people suffering from mental health concerns. How is this place still running? Patrick Malloy needs some serious multicultural training and competency. From a provider perspective, they often can't keep up with referrals and routinely have a low census, while Patrick will over promise how they can both compensate and provide hours. Patrick can also be passive aggressive with staff and clients. If you're a client, I know there are some great therapists who are hanging out for awhile until they can jump ship, and please continue to enjoy their services. But for your sake, I hope you don't have to encounter toxic Patrick!
