Update to my review below: I had not seen their response to my review for a long time. When I did and responded to them they immediately contacted me and sent someone to my home to see the meter. Turns out the meter is in the only place it can be due to the layout of the house & property. Not as thoughtless as I originally felt it was. They can t move it even if I paid them.

Thank you NJNG for your quick and thorough response. And for letting me know there is an auto shut off in case of flooding.

Just built a home and find it amazing that I may be the only house in the whole town with a Huge gas meter dead front and center of my home. Really! Would it have been so difficult to show some thought to safety, (even if it s just our feelings of safety) or a little kindness and respect and put it on the side of the house. We are in the highest flood zone, so if we get flooded the first thing to be hit by water is the meter. Feeling Very Safe? Not! And it may very well be the only damage to our home every time we get a little water. Thanks for considering the well being of our family. And definitely if there were a different company would use them & rip that out at any cost! A little sleep goes a long way. Just ridiculous!

This once was a great company to deal with, great customer service, they have over the years promoted energy efficiency appliances and now seems customers will pay a heavy price. From building a 28 mile new pipe line to warm weather, less gas usage, the company has managed to talk the regulators into a 30% delivery rate hike. So NJNG managed to talk the regulators into raising your gas delivery prices by 30% in 90 days. from .52 cents a therm in September to .67 cents a therm by November and in three increments, look at your bill. Some of their reasoning was warmer than normal weather and high efficiency equipment. So those who installed such boilers and water heaters are now being penalized. And even though majority of their customers received new gas meters in the past 5 years, they will be once again replaced to install the new "smart meter", and we also now get efficiency reports mailed to 500k+ customers, cant imagine the cost of that every month, defeats being efficient but it seems that's not what Westhoven is after. Very curious where our regulators that are supposed to be protecting the public. Use electric where you can, including tankless electric water heaters and stoves. I believe it still is a great company with much room for improvement. Will be also watching their stock.

Great place to work. People are very friendly and helpful unlike the private companies. There is a substantial portion of employees who are in their 50's, 60's who have been with company for long time which tells that people like to retire from this company.
Overall, a healthy and friendly working atmosphere with good options to move within the company. Thumbs Up!!!

About New Jersey Natural Gas

New Jersey Natural Gas is a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources (NJR), a Fortune 1000 company that has been providing reliable energy services to customers across the continental US and Canada for over 60 years. NJR is committed to delivering safe, clean, and affordable energy solutions to its customers while also being environmentally responsible.

New Jersey Natural Gas provides natural gas service to over half a million customers in New Jersey's Monmouth, Ocean, Morris, Middlesex, Sussex, and Burlington counties. The company has been serving these communities since 1952 and has become an integral part of the state's infrastructure.

One of the key benefits of using natural gas as an energy source is its affordability. Compared to other fossil fuels like oil or propane, natural gas is significantly cheaper per unit of energy produced. This makes it an attractive option for homeowners looking to save money on their monthly utility bills.

In addition to being cost-effective, natural gas is also one of the cleanest burning fossil fuels available. When burned for energy production, it produces significantly fewer greenhouse gases than other fossil fuels like coal or oil. This makes it an environmentally friendly choice for those looking to reduce their carbon footprint.

New Jersey Natural Gas takes its commitment to environmental responsibility seriously and has implemented several initiatives aimed at reducing its impact on the environment. For example, the company offers rebates for customers who purchase high-efficiency appliances or upgrade their home's insulation levels.

Another benefit of using natural gas as an energy source is its reliability. Unlike electricity which can be disrupted by storms or other weather events, natural gas pipelines are buried underground and are less susceptible to damage from external factors. This means that even during power outages caused by severe weather events like hurricanes or blizzards; homes with access to natural gas can still have heat and hot water.

Overall New Jersey Natural Gas provides reliable service at affordable prices while also being environmentally responsible; making them a top choice for homeowners in New Jersey looking for a dependable source of energy.

In conclusion:

If you're looking for reliable and affordable energy services in New Jersey; look no further than New Jersey Natural Gas! With over 60 years' experience providing safe & clean fuel options across North America - they're committed not only towards delivering quality products but also towards protecting our planet through eco-friendly practices such as offering rebates on high-efficiency appliances/upgrading insulation levels etc., making them stand out among competitors when it comes down ranking higher online too!
