Drove on rt.3 today north. Traffic was stopped for 10 miles. Got to the cause of it and there was 8 state workers fixing a guard rail. They were all standing around laughing. Not working, making how much money? backing up traffic longer than oj's track record.

There is a large misconception of how much work and consideration goes into every day decisions at the NHDOT. I have found that they try their best to incorporate the public's needs, but when half the public agrees on a matter and the other half doesn't, it's hard to make two ends meet. 'Kinda like how politics go... On another hand, even though they stand around at some construction sites, some jobs actually require supervision to ensure accuracy while paving, etc, is done. Overall, I appreciate the work of the NHDOT and don't think they should be rated a 1/5 stars so I'm uppin' that average.
The DOT Maintenance Dept. knocked over my mailbox while plowing and the state refuses to pay for it or fix it.
