Shame on your officers and your department (that is responsible for training, monitoring, and holding officers accountable) for punching a 16 year old boy in the head. I watched the video and it was absolute impunity. I read they are required to wear body cameras since 2015. So were they or weren t they? That is the department s responsibility. It should not take citizens filming and publicly sharing abuse for an internal investigation to take place. These officers need to be fired, without pay, including the one who attempted to stop the video-taping on private property. A 16 year old kid with some marijuana and they punched him in the head to the extent he got a concussion. That s justice? Do NOT put these officers on paid leave. That s a reward, free, taxpayer funded paid time off? Fire them. Set an example. Train, monitor, and hold your officers accountable. This behavior creates problems in your community. It does not resolve them. This is shameful behavior to punch a minor in the head to the point he was concussed and had to go to the hospital. Shame on these officers and shame on your department.

Their police officer harass and stalk citizens. Ride around and run tags for no apparent reasons. Community policing my ass 75% of a cops don't even live in the area or even state.

we have been here for two years in a apartment. These cops have had 2 patrol cars parked out side the whole duration. We've had to call several times about the neighbors partying and a very disruptive child that never stops pounding on the walls and floor. The cops never came for our call of complaint and they still keep partying away all night long on top of having people live there who are not on the lease. This has been a horrible living envirement and unneighborly tennants.

Love n.c.c.p.d last year my car was broken into took them a week to find the person with my items the office kept me informed on what was happening and really made me feel like he cared, the year before some kids broke my car window the officer who came out was nice kind and very helpful glad she's out there watching outside of the one office who was nasty and rude who gave me a ticket rightly so because I was wrong using my phone while driving I can't say anything bad about them I trust my police

I m from PA and have lived in Claymont Delaware for about 10 years. It s amazing how much open air crime goes on, and the police do absolutely nothing. Whether it s kids on motorbikes riding everywhere, drug deals in the wawa parking lot,people blowing stop signs like they re in GTA, or constant drug use behind Claymont elementary. Seriously, the new castle county police have ZERO presence in this area. Zero. I have yet to see a police officer outside of their vehicle, if I see one at all in the area. You have to assume the police are aware of the crime spots, yet, they never get out of their vehicle to do anything. In delco, if there was an issue, the police would be parked out front or on location 24/7. In Delaware its a joke.

3 county Police officers came to my sister's house due to my nephew having a mental issue. She told me the officers that came out were very understanding and were very respectful. They could not have handle the situation any better. I have always respected the police and I am just so grateful they dealt with the situation they way they did and got him the help that he needed AND understood the issues they had to deal with. More people need to respect the police. Thank-you officers!!

Kidding, I have no experience of what I just mentioned. BUT the very few interactions I've had at this particular location It's never been horrible. I've had questions answered, The Police I've spoke with here were generally friendly.

Yeah I don't know what's happened over the last few years. The dispatchers can never seem to understand the directions or address as you give them. The last few times the dispatchers have been rude and belligerent. Just like everything else in New Castle County or Wilmington, it's all gone downhill. New Castle has become overpopulated with homeless and heroin addicts. So I don't expect the Police Department to really care about how well they do their jobs anyway.

I just got pulled over today for no reason(literally the officer did not have a reason when asked). I think it was because I m driving while black in a Cadillac He ask where I was coming from and I still had my work badge on (they re not very observant just seen my skin color) oh and then where ya going! Uh officer home where you stopped me from going He then goes to his car and take all long just to come back and say he is giving me a ticket for failing to register the vehicle I just brought. SMH needless to say I m fighting it and I don t trust the police even more than before!

Was walking home and I crossed the street, a cop truck does an illegal U-turn and almost hits my stroller, I call the Counting the first officer to answer the phone was helpful but the deputy on duty tells me maybe it was the state police and not his officers I'm in Newcastle why would troop two officers be patrolling Newcastle Avenue. I theb ask him what officers are due to that area at this time of the night, he tells me he will call and check but other than that he could not help me and told me to call troop 2...TF..not if he hit my stroller he would have gotten paid administrative leave and I would have been in hospital with ma child

All cops should wear a body cams with 24/7 camera and audio. They are scared and misjudge ppl for how they look and what they drive. My brother was harrassed by several cops several years ago and they werent very nice at all calling him names and treating him like a drug dealer! They lucky they didnt get sued.

Very slow no feedback on investigations officers do not make contact in time very little communication

I have personally had contact over the years with many County Police officers. Either if I was in a car accident or things going on in the neighborhood. I feel they do a great job of protecting me and my family. I have personally never had a bad experience with a county officer and hope I never do. All officer County, State, Wilmington etc.. put their lives on the line every shift to protect us and our community the best they can. They are son's, daughters, father's, mother's, brothers, sisters etc. They are people first. They have very difficult dangerous jobs even more so these days. They need our support as we need their support.

Every cop involved in beating that boy should be jailed for child abuse and Assault also the cop telling the boy he cant record should be suspended for 4 weeks without pay maybe then he'll learn the laws or find a new profession

Sorry my day party got a loud. The officers i must say was professional and fair one of the best police departments that i have ever encountered.

I have had several medical emergencies and several weeks of late night/early AM gunshots near my home. Quite possibly someone illegally shooting foxes, cats, or rabbits when others are asleep. They have been close and very frightening for my elderly mother. The officers have ALWAYS responded quickly, in a professional, concerned, and friendly manner every time and continue to monitor the area for illegal discharge of firearms that could be so dangerous in a neighborhood or pierce a home or car gravely injuring residents. Great job! I support them completely and happily donate to fundraising efforts each year. We need to look out for our officers as much as they look out for us! It can t be an easy job especially in today s environment. Teach your kids to respect, not fear, law enforcement!!

an officer had left a voicemail for me to ask me questions about an incident that had apparently happened. i tried to contact said officer who, using the number provided, apparently no one knew who said officer was. an hour later after several dozen attempts to contact said officer, same officer contacted me again to inform me a warrant was out for my arrest. so before i could even answer their questions, i had to turn myself in. absolutely unprofessional and a violation of due process and with no probable cause. while being processed, not a single person there wanted talk to me about said incident and/or how i was connected. even the "judge" or lack there of, whos a judge from dewey beach, was just awful. an absolute lack of questioning and didnt care i had evidence to prove my innocence.
oh and the department doesn't care. i reported a break in on my car last april. i told them exactly who did it and why. crazy ex duh! and when they arrived. the officer took fingerprints, gave me the case number, and i have heard nothing since!!! how hard is it to arrest someone?! apparently easy to pin a crime to someone like me with no evidence, but when i try to report a crime, im completely ignored!?!

They only make situations worse and they don t know how to handle people with severe mental conditions or even minor ones at that and there s no over-site. Just police protecting police with no consequences.

One of your officers changed my life forever with his courtesy and guiding words about me speeding and how I needed to change my habits . I use to dislike police based on past issues but it s good to know their are good cops out there. Y all not all bad at the end of the day

They finally showed up after mid night and i was trying to report my daughter's bully when it was me that ended up getting bullied by them!!!! Shame on you!!!!

Department is a joke. They have a West African theft ring occurring within their jurisdiction (8 McCullough Dr. New Castle, DE 19726) and all they can do is cry about the victims not being within that jurisdiction. What a sad excuse for the motto,"to protect and serve".

Too many unprofessional, inexperienced officers in one department.

Takes hours to respond to calls for help, and then the officer bullies and judges us based on looks. And if it's a theft or drug call, they don't even bother showing up.

I've had mostly good service calling non-emergency numbers.
Once, I was reporting a lost firearm and he was one of the nicest cops, that I've dealt with.
When I found the rifle he was just as nice.
The worst was the cop, that didn't believe, that my medicine was stolen out of my Trailblazer, and that I don't
always lock the door when I walk my German Shepard. He said there's no signs of breaking in, and implied, thst I was doing this to get more meds, and I told him, that I don't always lock it, again.
He assumed that I was doing this to get more meds, which is strictly against my office's policy. The doctors office will not do it.
The same thief, that stole my cell phone, didn't see the lock box.
I found my lockbox, with the medicine last January, and I took a picture of it with my dated bloodwork, to show my doctor.
They were lost for over 3 1/2 years.

I truly appreciate the good cops out there!

If I rated based on all police calls, they have gone out of their way to give me a hard time.

I would like to give full marks to officer Hopkins and Officer Nocifaro for there hard work and passion to serve the community. They were able to find out my stolen car corolla 2006 on 7/19/2016 within two hours after the event. They were really quick and they knew what they are doing. I am really satisfied by there service. Thumbs up.

They gave me the full power to watch after the neighborhood day in and day out night in and night out

Officers should NOT be allowed to make decisions on making reports as they are bias and cannot relate . Officer Guillen will be in trouble when I am done reporting him for his laziness and incompetence in my case and his non willingness to answer my questions.

Not knowledgeable about individuals' rights. Failure to follow procedures. Also, not all officers were wearing masks.

Supply, and evidence department have a nasty attitude, and are very unhelpful. They give you the run around on how to get your firearms back, and only give you partial information on the steps in which to get them back. All while having said, nasty attitude.

kids starting a fire up the street from me. called and was told to call someone else. called the fire department and was told to call this number. No one bothered to come help.
