Refuse transaction fees
Do not rely upon an oral agreement on listing terms. This group charges not only a commission that certainly is no less than competitors but also charges a transaction fee - not only is it unusual- but the fee is also high compared to others I spoke with that did charge it. In my case the agent never mentioned the fee and I signed the listing agreement without thoroughly reading it. Which was my bad. However no party should use a standard legal form (listing) and then insert fees without first discussing them with their court. Bad form. I won’t use them again or recommend to others.
