they say this sckhool is realy good becuase of the academcs; but it really ain't all that. my frends are non egsistant becuase they left due too the horible teachers, an the carpul line is trash to.
I go here and I think that it is one of the best schools ever
My boys went from hating school to loving school. Every teacher challenges them to do their best. They get the grades they deserve. Teachers have high expectations and many parents and students aren't used to this. The school allows children to make mistakes and learn from them. Beyond providing students with an awesome education (with hands on learning), they are instilling work ethic and preparing them for the "not so nice" real world. No school is perfect, but Neuse Charter is perfect for my family.
i didnt like this school the principal was terrible and the kids were rude. dont take your kid here it will be a terrible mistake.
I'm a current student and things have changed dramatically in the past two years and not for the best. But the problem is retiring this year and I have high hopes that the teachers that came with the problem leaves with the problem. Besides the obvious problem we have I love the teachers here, they know how to teach us while still having a good time.

People don't realize that this school is one of the BEST schools in the triangle. If you get in, you are SMART.
1)The need for 28 credits except for 21 is ridiculous.
2)That their is no Standard Class Options, it's Only Honors and AP
3) The Principals and Teachers keep changing so students constantly have to get used to new teaching methods
4) Their is No need for women here to keep being disrespected by the staff constantly telling them what their wearing is Wrong. If the excuse for it is the Male staff then the problem is the Male staff,not the student.
5)Not being able to wear Piercings, Ripped Jean's ,Spiked Bracelets and Stretched Ears. Is Very disrespectful to the Students that Express theirselve in that way when in fact it does not hurt anyone or distract anyone.
6)Their is no real cafeteria, Unhealthy food is being fed to the kids,
7) The Library here is Inconvenient and verry small. Most Students dont go or even realize they have one.
8)School Is Very Small .
9) Some teachers dont even have their own class room .That took away the pods which was originally used for the students to study in or take tests & quizzes when needed a quiet working space.
10) Students get regularly band from the Wifi which makes Online assignments difficult
11) The schedules are always messed up by the consulars
12) Highschool Rarely get field trips, When so it would cost a mass amount their for ends up being cancelled.
13) The staff tricks all the Students that Taking Language classes is required to graduate high school when in reality that's only important for College.
(Yes Some students actually dont want to go to college)
14) The College idea is very pushed on the Students
15) Do not go here, it is very regrettable
16) The Car Pool is unbelievably bad
This is an excellent school for students that need to be accelerated (grade skip or single -subject acceleration). It is a college-prep school, so they expect you to value the importance of a quality education, collaborate, and work hard. Their standard is higher than most public schools in Johnston County. It is K-12, so wonderful to have all your children on the same campus/location and calendar. Most of the board members are vested and have their children enrolled as well. Public charter schools only receive 70% of what traditional public schools receive and cannot receive bond or lottery money, so they depend on the community to support. Our children have attended this school for 6 academic years - no regrets in making the change.
I don't feel satisfied with this school for several reasons.
1.) They ask constantly for money or more supplies. Not just any kind either, they give the specific brand name of what they want (which tends to be the more expensive brands)
2.) The majority of teachers(not all) I have dealt with are not very friendly. For example, I came into the class room for a planned activity & was made to feel unwelcome there & that I needed to leave asap. Also, my child is scared to ask his teacher questions because she is not approachable and he thinks she will punish him for asking.
3.) They are ridiculous with carpool! Elementary carpool is not allow to line up until 3:05 on the dot(literally), if you arrive early you are made to drive off campus. For example, I was told it was 30 SECONDS not minutes but SECONDS until 3:05 & I had to drive back off campus. We had somewhere to be that day & I needed to get him as soon as I could but because of being there 30 SECONDS early & forced to leave campus I wasn't able to pick up my child for 35 minutes. RIDICULOUS!!!!!
4.) A good portion of staff have the attitude of it's a privilege for you to attend that school & anything done they don't like will have you kicked out. So if you're not willing to brown nose the staff at this school you won't get anywhere with them. I do not believe anyone is better than another, therefore, I don't brown nose. However, I do treat all with the kind of respect I would like to have.
I can't say that i will have my child at Neuse Charter School next year.
No, I have not said anything positive about NCS and that is because I have yet to see any. This is my review and YES, it can be NEGATIVE . I only say this because of another post I saw saying you shouldn't post anything that's NOT positive.
