The layout of the building is TERRIBLE. It's all built in a circle, and you can't pass from Hall A to Hall D without walking around the entire space, which is huge. As a vendor, I was also massively inconvenienced when management told us no outside food or drinks for our personal use! I understand that we can't sell food/drinks or give them away as promos (this was not in the contract, BTW, and a fellow vendor had to pack up and leave because she sells cookies). I have blood sugar issues, and must eat something every 2 hours. While the food sold by the concessions was pretty good, and fairly reasonably priced for a Center, the fact that they opened very late and closed very early was terrible for me because that meant I was there on Sunday 9am to 6pm with food only at 11-3!

Now, the good points: Very clean space, plenty of room for large events. Very nice loading dock with additional loading zone for small cars. The staff was all very helpful and knowledgeable. Aside from how rudely the person who told me I couldn't have my food and water spoke to me, they were all very nice.

Event halls are kind of outdated and dilapidated and there's definitely an 80s feel to the building. it was an okay experience going to different conventions here as nothing was particularly falling apart but like I said it just felt old and had a strange feeling to it.

Large facility easy to reach (by tram or Uber or your car). It looks a bit outdated, it would require some re-development of infrastructures (eg lighting, displays, electric sockets, restrooms,...) to become again the appealing center it was 10+ years ago.

I came to the ToyExpo and parking was free. It wasn't too far of a walk to the hall where my show was. It was very clean and the people that worked there were very helpful. Loved that the bathrooms were clean, which isn't usual when there is lots of guests.

Desperately in need of remodeling, this Silicon Valley convention center looks like it was built in the 1980's and hasn't changed since then.

Every event I've attended in this center has been underwhelming.

the food, even by overpriced convention center standards, is extremely mediocre. This makes the limited dining options nearby the convention center even more painful.

Want to put on a convention and don t want to embrace the modern dystopia that is San Francisco? This is your place! Great parking, good nearby restaurants, nicely gentrifying surrounding neighborhoods, and nobody I know has ever been mugged attending a show here!

Charges are exorbitant for sponsors and attendees alike.

Want an extra table at your exhibit booth or an Ethernet connection? You'll be paying hundreds of dollars per day for both. And trust me, you'll need that Ethernet connection, because the main hall is like a giant metal box that reflects all wifi signals, ensuring that no wifi connection actually works.

Food is poor, both in selection and pricing. Best lunch you can hope for is a 85% bread sandwich, making for a diabetic nightmare.

The one upside of this convention center is parking and location. It's fairly easy to get here, given the intersection of major highways near it.

I've been with several companies that have used the Santa Convention Center for large company events and find it to be a really good experience overall. They know how to cater to huge outings with thousands of people, which is no easy feat. The main rooms are massive, seating is as comfortable as it can be with the type of chair required to hold that many people and sound/acoustics/visuals for all the presenters/stage participants is excellent.

The only negative is the number of bathrooms for such large crowds. But I've stayed in the adjoining Hyatt Regency hotel each time, so didn't have much of an issue.
