My neighbor demolished a house from the lead paint era with no lead abatement practices at all, scattering paint chips onto adjacent properties. One of these being a pre-school. I tested and confirmed lead in chips found on my property. I then reported this to NCDHHS, they began to investigate and even began disciplinary action against this property owner. However, I guess the owner paid them off, because upon final check in with NCDHHS they reported the owner did nothing wrong and they had closed the case. It's clear NCDHHS doesn't take lead poisoning dangers seriously.
