Awesome place to attend College! Really miss attending in person due to COVID-19, hope this stupid virus is gone by the time the Fall 2021 Semester starts, as I plan on returning there in person that Semester! I have been attending since Spring 2012.

Clueless advisors, reps and faculty members that don't know how to respond to emails or answer phones. Their 2 year degrees take more than two years because they advise you poorly on scheduling classes. This school tried dropping surprise tuition charges on my account and they tried negating my financial aid because their financial aid rules on the website are vague or they contradict their own rules and the CSCU rules for the whole state. If you send an appeal expect to be waiting weeks on end while playing phone tag or getting no answer, only for your appeal to be denied anyway. Now they've outsourced their admissions phone line to a call center, so I imagine it's only gotten worse. Also, they offer no meal plans and the food is overpriced. Save your money and effort and study somewhere else if you can.
Great resource for higher education at a reasonable cost. There are adult education courses too such as CNA, bartending and motorcycle safety. There are advisers that will help you plan classes and many resources to help you be successful such as the wonderful faculty, the library, and the ACE Center.
One of the things that makes Naugatuck Valley Community College so great is its passion for innovation. They are strong because of their diversity and all of the resources you might need to succeed are here for you. Also, the administration, staff and faculty are more than happy to help. To make the best of your college experience, I would recommend that you get involved: there are many activities on campus to attend and clubs to join. Also, there is so much opportunity. Even scholarships. I love this college and so will you.
I had a great experience attending this school. The majority of my teachers were really great and helpful. I liked the small class sizes because it allows you to interact more with the class & create closer bonds in my opinion. The ACE center was a great resource which I utilized especially for my math classes.
I attended a Horticulture Certificate program here. The teachers were and are great. I recently completed a Greenhouse Management class which was great as well. The new greenhouse is wonderful with aquaponics as an adjunct. The horticulture program is fantastic.
The Electrical Engineering Technology program is ABET accredited, so that's nice. You'll find that most professors are great here. Only had maybe 1 or 2 that weren't that good. I will say that the financial aid office is not very helpful. Seems that whenever I call, somehow no one knows how to help me. I called once for information on getting leftover grant money moved to another semester, as I had done in a previous semester. According to who I talked to, they've never done that... OK. So I asked about paying it out... She said they'd send a check. Well, its been 5 months... Wheres my $8?! I recommend not calling the financial aid office about financial aid... That said, everything else is great and I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an Associates Degree.
The school has been (somewhat) restored; It has become crowded again and full of life. I checked around and have found out a lot of clubs no longer exist. (Advice #1) If you plan to attend and currently don't have transportation, the school provides students a "Bus Pass" that will cover your transportation needs and it will cost you nothing, speak with the staff to get yourself started.(Advice #2) If you have obtained your college ID, understand that a lot of places (restaurants, clothing stores, etc...) offer discounts for college students. Goodluck.
