About National institute of solar energy - india
The National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) is a premier research and development institution under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India. Established in 2013, NISE is dedicated to promoting solar energy technologies and applications in India through research, testing, training, consultancy services, and policy support.
NISE's mission is to accelerate the adoption of solar energy technologies in India by providing world-class R&D facilities for solar energy systems design, development, testing, certification and standardization. The institute also offers training programs for professionals in the renewable energy sector to enhance their skills and knowledge.
One of NISE's key objectives is to develop indigenous solar technology solutions that are cost-effective and efficient. The institute has state-of-the-art laboratories for photovoltaic (PV) module testing as per international standards such as IEC 61215/61646/61730 series. It also has a Solar Thermal Testing Laboratory equipped with various types of collectors such as flat plate collectors (FPC), evacuated tube collectors (ETC), concentrating collectors etc., which can be used for performance evaluation under different climatic conditions.
In addition to R&D activities, NISE provides consultancy services on various aspects related to solar energy projects such as site selection analysis, feasibility studies, project design & engineering support etc. The institute also assists MNRE in formulating policies related to renewable energy development in India.
NISE has been actively involved in capacity building initiatives aimed at creating a skilled workforce for the renewable energy sector. It conducts regular training programs on various aspects related to solar PV systems including installation & commissioning procedures; operation & maintenance practices; safety guidelines etc., which are attended by professionals from government agencies as well as private organizations.
The institute has collaborated with several national & international organizations such as International Solar Alliance (ISA), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), World Bank Group etc., on various projects related to renewable energy development. NISE has also signed MoUs with various academic institutions for joint research & development activities.
NISE's contribution to the growth of solar energy in India has been significant. The institute has played a key role in developing standards and guidelines for solar PV systems, which have been adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). It has also contributed to the development of several policies related to renewable energy such as National Solar Mission, Rooftop Solar Programme etc.
In conclusion, NISE is a premier institution dedicated to promoting solar energy technologies and applications in India through research, testing, training, consultancy services and policy support. Its state-of-the-art facilities and skilled workforce make it an ideal partner for organizations looking to develop indigenous solar technology solutions that are cost-effective and efficient. With its focus on capacity building initiatives aimed at creating a skilled workforce for the renewable energy sector, NISE is poised to play a key role in India's transition towards clean energy sources.
