A must see in Ottawa. You can walk there from most places or you can park in the underground at a reasonable price. Close to the mint and the byword market.

Great collection. Too much to list here but a great site.

Great collection of Canadian art. Nice facility and viewing environment. We were there in middle of tourist season but the place was not even half full! Need more promotion to get people in to see this collection.

Beautiful architecture, a great selection of collections to view. I didn't know what to expect going in, but it's a very nicely kept museum. There's two levels of art galleries, with the temporary exhibition and Canadian/Indigenous art on the bottom then international on the top. There's a fantastic number of paintings from excellent Canadian artists I've never heard of, as well as fascinating pieces of first Nations clothing, art and sculptures. It's a great demonstration of Canadian culture over the centuries. As for international art, there were many works from celebrated artists I've seen only in books before which was very interesting.

Wow. I was last there in the '90's. How it's changed. What a beautiful building with so much stunning art on display including wonderful Canadian works. Absolutely loved the visit as did my kids.

The national gallery of Canada has some of the most iconic works within it. I thoroughly enjoyed their contemporary work, more specifically the fourty part motet by Janet Cardiff was absolutely amazing. Not the mention the architecture of the gallery is beautifully designed for the city is it in. Would recommend this for everyone!!!

The gallery has a small cafe/restaurant inside which had a variety of dishes to select from, we ordered the duck and the beet salad and to be honest it was one of the best dishes I have ever had.

Just in the evening free time to enter the show, the exhibition is very large, even if it is at least around half an hour. It's a refurbishment now, but it won't let you go to a dangerous place. Many people take pictures with big spiders outside.

One of the main attraction listed for Ottawa tour. We visited the place this year amid covid. It was less crowded as expected. This place is right at the center and many other attractikns are nearby on walking distance. The tour starts from 10am on weekends and it is free of cost. This Gallery is huge and there are lots of paintings and sculptures to look out for. It will take at least 1 hour for sure to cover this place and if you are really into the arts then it might take even more. Inside the gallery the photography is prohibited but Outside the Gallery you can click photos with the big spider like structure and also in front of notre dame church.

One of the most famous art galleries in all of Canada. The building is already a work of art alone! Parking is a bit expensive and the visit lasts a couple of hours. If you pay slightly more, you can visit the exhibition on Impressionism.

Very disappointed at the cost to visit this museum. The national art museum in Washington DC, London and Madrid (in the evening) were all free to me and have way more works of art. The Canadian artist section of this museum was amazing and made the cost somewhat worth it, but I feel like Canada should follow the example and make these wonderful works free to be enjoyed like the other countries.

Visiting from Vermont and we really enjoyed our time at the National Gallery of Canada! I really liked the architecture of the building and the contemporary art. Great way to spend the afternoon in Ottawa especially on a rainy day.

There's a beautiful lookout in the back, be sure to go in the summer and wait until 7:45 pm for the most beautiful sunset. Enjoy a picnic up there and be sure to check it out during the free hours on Thursday 5:30 pm. Check in your bags and enjoy a glass of wine in the lobby (they have have apps and drink specials). Of course, the gallery itself is beautiful which goes without saying. Be inspired and enjoy.

Shared a field trip with my daughter. Day full of fun. Very nice pieces in the gallery. The tour guide did a great job in informing the parents and kids throughout the day. Would recommend taking the time off if your child is going on a field trip here. Overall A+

I like going to the National gallery of Canada. They always have such interesting exhibitions. The building always has at least 3 exhibitions going on and always with arts from various eras. One flat fee gets you access to the whole museum. They also have a phenomenal gift store that you can easily spend an hour in looking at all the different products. I try to visit at least once a year!

It is a huge museum, you need enough time to visit all the rooms and appreciate the pieces, it is an excellent place to visit with your family or friends, especially if you are a tourist. It has very good temporary exhibitions and renowned artists. Security is very strict, so they will attract your attention at least once. The museum has a cloakroom service, bathrooms and a gift shop.

Really great collection: take in anything from Klimt and Picasso to amazing Canadian and first nation artists. Make sure to give yourself at least half a day if you are quick and a full day if you like to read all the descriptions. Also important: good coffee at the coffee shop.

This National Gallery is magnificent for old and young. Although I do hope they bring back the 40 strong recorded choir that was in the chapel. One of the most moving and profound experiences one can have.

Amazing collection, and wonderful rotation of special exhibits. Free on Thursday evenings, which has been wonderful while I've been on a tighter budget. Membership is a reasonable price, and I will definitely purchase membership again in the future.
