I don't know anything about this company except what I've heard. But some of the reviews I've read. My Lord. You actually think there's a company out there you are going to get to go home every 3 or 4 weeks and you expect that big pay check? Hello! Reality check. This is the trucking industry. I have a wife and kids. I like seeing them but I'm a driver. I'll stay out 6-8 weeks at a time. Sometimes even 10 weeks. All I ask in return. Give me miles to run and keep me busy. When I do go home I expect to stay home 5-7 days at a time and have some quality time with my kids. I know this CFI sucks. Lol I been out 40 days and not made anything. I'll be out here to July 2nd. I have no doubt they will get me home but I don't expect to go home with any money for my troubles.....

Have to say this is a great company. They will help you any which way they can. My DM is great. The pay could be a tad better, but also we have APU's on company truck. They will give you hotel for 34. Some other perks other companies don't offer. Trucks could be a tad faster. Overall have nothing bad to say. The wait times at shippers and receivers are worse and worse everyday but that's any company.

Current driver...nci is not perfect. I read some of the ugly comments. I have not had the bad experience some describe
Nci is not the best paying nor is it the worst. For that reason I give 4 stars not 5.
I have been here about 1yr.
The miles are pretty consistent. The only time I get inconsistent miles is going into and coming out of home time.
I live in Florida so that is expected. I averaged 2800 mpw sometimes more/less.
Sometimes I just get caught in the spin cycle of short loads.IT NEVER LASTS. That's just part of Trucking. I will tell you this.
The equipment is good/safe!
If something breaks they fix it immediately. If it involves ac/heater they will put me in a hotel. A decent hotel! Not some run down shady motel.
I like my job! They don't micromanage me. I get to my pu / delivery on time and they leave me alone. To those who complain about miles...
Most deliveries have extra time. Get there early! Always try and have as many hrs. Available coming out of your delivery. It will be very rare to sit idle. All in all this is a good company. Honest people. Most of the people who have had a bad experience at nci I believe are going to have problems at any company. They demand perfection from everyone but themselves!
This is a good company!
I like the people I work with.
Even the ones I don't see eye to eye with. Ty truck 4899 Daniel Snyder

I m a current OTR Driver at National Carriers!

I m a current OTR Driver at National Carriers!

1.) Dispatch: They never call me, except for when my refer is throwing a weird temperature code. Other than that, they are VERY laid back. I m not sure if they were all be former drivers, but they seem to have a ton of experience that help. They never call me to ask me what I m doing (although, I ve never given them a reason to call me since all of my loads have been picked up and delivered on time). Don t screw around and they'll treat you good.

2.) Trucks: Automatic Kenworth T-680 s equipped with house style sockets to be used for microwave, tv, coffee pot etcetera. They have APU s (heat & ac when the truck is off), double bunks, desk, tv mount, collision mitigation system for blind spots, etcetera.

3.) Recruiting: Everything they told me was true. Actually, they seem to have under promised and over delivered; some of the things they told me during the recruiting process turned out to be better than I expected.

4.) Pay: I ve typically made over $1000.00 per week in my first year. I ve had checks that were $1500.00, and some that were $900.00. I m on track right now to make over $65k my first year.

5.) Miles: I m averaging over 2600 miles per week right now and I m only in my first year. If you don t think you can make a delivery on time, simply speak up and let them know. If you have a valid point, they ll switch up your trip and they don t hold grudges. They want you to get to your pickup & delivery safely.

6.) Work Environment: If you know anything about National Carriers, they were known for being the king of owner ops back in the day, as a result, they still treat their drivers with the highest level of respect as if they re still working solely with owner ops. The work environment feels like a small town/home-style atmosphere. Everybody knows everybody's name.

7.) Conflict Resolution: EXCELLENT! If you have a problem, say something and it will get fixed. They want you on the team. Leaving without trying to fix the problem is crazy considering how willing they are to work through issues. A few people that have solved problems for me by going above and beyond are Al Love, Shawn (dispatch manager), Debra H. (my dispatcher), Stacie (my recruiter).

8.) Home Time: Never had a problem getting home if I asked for time off. 5 stars for this point alone!

This place will put u in a damn bond. 14yrs experience. They take ur last check so don't tell them when u leave and the payroll lady will go beyond what the court tells them to pay. Al.love come across like he will help u but they get a check and can give a damn about ur check. Not bitter to experience to cry. High turnover rate real high.. stay away. The people leaving comments work on there internet side. 4/17- 8/17 all my credit cards a behind and i gave them 150%

they will drive you into the ground. no consideration at all for the well being of their drivers they often use unrealistic time estimates in the name of making a buck. missed schedules due to unrealistic planning and equipment breakdowns will keep you from driving enough miles to pay the bills. Most recently a driver in my opinion fell asleep at the wheel as the result of sleep deprivation. He was my friend and was killed This is what I expect from greedy and incompetent management resulting from the "Peter Principle". Shame on you NCI.

I thought this company was top notch until I found out they dropped my health insurance without so much as a letter letting me know. I was out due to a very sick family member and contacted them to let them know I had to have surgery and they never bothered to let me know my insurance had already lapsed! I should have received notice about my insurance lapsing and I should have received the Cobra option. I received nothing but a phone call 2 days before my scheduled surgery (from my doctor) that the insurance had lapsed. Life and death surgery and no one from National bothered to let me know. They do not care about their employees, all they care about is their trucks moving down the road.

National is a really great company to drive for. As a team, miles aren't that great; you'll have to stay in constant communication with your dispatcher to stay running at a decent pace. Solos run fairly consistently and most drivers with whom I've spoken are happy. Management actually cares about the drivers, I have several higher-ups' cell numbers on speed dial just in case I ever need them. So far I haven't.

Yes, there are a few negatives. A few dispatchers (mostly night/weekend and fill-in guys) are a little on the stupid side and have a hard time getting anything done, and many of the customers we deliver to are downright terrible. But this is a refrigerated carrier, idiocy seems to run rampant among customers who get cold stuff delivered. On the whole however, National is a great place to work and I don't plan on leaving anytime soon.

Edit 06/2017: I dunno exactly what changed in the office in the last year or so, but I'm officially retracting my "teams run kinda slow" statement. We've been running our tails off for a good long time now. Sure does make for some sweeeeet paychecks! Also, ask about the employee meat purchase program...some of the best beef on Earth for less than wholesale prices. Hope you've got a good barbecue grill at home!

I'm married to a driver, my father was a driver and oldest brother. My father worked for this company 32 years ago and my husband did 3 years ago. I have a very high respect for drivers. But yesterday I took my husband back to his truck in Shreveport and on my way home, one of your truckers almost killed me and could have caused a major fatal accident on I 20 in Texas. I have it all on my dash cam. Give your new drivers trainers. Don't put them in a truck by themselves just cause they managed to drive 6 blocks on driving course and got cdl.

Got terminated before i even started because i am a non smoker and they couldn't get me a non smoking trainer. They wont connect me to HR to talk about a solution, told me it was easier to fire me then to work with me. I wasted 2 weeks of my time. Called me with an attitude giving me an ultimatum. Its a joke

My husband has now been gone a month for training and isn't being trained. He has spent half the time in a hotel. He was sent out with a trainer that didn't want to train and wasn't allowing my husband to get the miles he needed. So then they put him in a hotel to wait for another trainer and he's now been there a week and he's getting a run around.

Pet policy is not explained. They say 2 years experience but it has to be non stop driving otr. Lie about accidents being ok. Seem to look for little reasons not to hire. Wasted 4 days for nothing. Be honest and straight forward recruiters Chang your cl ad and don't waste people's time.

So today I was driving in loves #609 . Someone tagged the fence by the entrance and it was laying on the driveway. I was just gonna use the scale and leave but I noticed a National truck looking for parking right. So I'm driving back around and this guy (national driver)saw opportunity there. But he didn't just move the fence . He fixed it. Like hung it back on the poles. And parked.. now that's class. If yall see truck number 4308 thank him for me .

would not work for them!! they don't care about the drivers at all if you have a family I would run away from this carrier.. Not only will they not pay you what they should, they wont get you home for hometime; missing holidays and important events when told you will get home time. also will flat out forget about hometime. Maybe they should have to live in the conditions and budget of the truck drivers they employ and see if they can survive it over a month without seeing their loved ones.

My husband and I were hired on to run OTR Teams. My husband tried to get a different trainer and was denied a different trainer. They got in to a disagreement. My husband was fired, nothing happened to the trainer. The 3 days later they fired me because my husband was fired. I wouldn't suggest wasting your time with this company.

First off, recruiters do not tell you 100% truth. Like any recruiter does.. I was told 2500-2800 miles weekly average. I started off good with a good check but it was for two weeks running. I believe personally no one really communicates on the inside of operations. The trucks are the only nice part about the company. ALOT of micro managing. Where to fuel, when to fuel, how much to fuel, have to get all receipts for paperwork because there not fully electronic. Getting home can be a little challenging. All I can say is go elsewhere unless this is you're absolute last resort. Only reason for two stars is because some people were real nice.

I work for them and would recommend them. Every driver that has bad reviews on this company will have bad to say about every company. Its a truck drivers right to complain, but most drivers like it here. The good ones who run and dont mind being away from family make money for their families.

Never dealt with this company, but today at about 10am, we were going west on Hwy 44 into a work zone. The truck driver refused to let us over, even though he had ample opportunity to. Not only did he almost cause an accident, he sped right through the 50 mph speed zone.

Very good company with GREAT people. Though I think Jill in Safety is wrong on some things and John Originales can be a hard ass at times and my trainer Jeff was so full of himself at times I still give N.C.I 4 stars. With that Jill is a sweet lady with a good heart and John Originales is a guy who loves America and it's values and Al Love is unique. I wish I still worked for them.

Is it a rose garden 100% of the time, nope, but of the companies I've worked for over the years I have worked for this one the longest, here's why, I GET TREATED FAIRLY, that's it, its a good company with good people who if you're respectful it gets returned.
Miles are consistent and as said above keep in good contact with your DM let them know your needs and when its your turn help them when they need you help out I've gotten home almost every time I've put in for, its trucking sometimes things don't always go as planned but in general I always get home as planned.
