If you re looking for serenity and beauty then this is the place for you. The area is a bit dry and hot but where the lodge is so cool and green. Their breakfast menu is also great, they offer it for hotel guests and others but one must alert the lodge first.

Beautiful place to relax. Great ambience especially the sound of the flowing river next to the rooms. If you love nature you'll definitely love the place. The service and staff are topnotch. However, a facelift would go a long way.

Still a favourite place for me on a weekend out of town but rooms are now old fashioned and some renovations would do. Have friendly staff with awesome meals and ambience especially complemented by nature. I highly recommend for peaceful, relaxing weekend getaway.

I love this place. Their customer service was top-notch. They even organized for a candle lit dinner.
Their meals were great. We ate lamb with Ugali. Well prepared.
The 1km stretch from the main road may need some tarmacing.
I will definitely visit again.

This place holds some really fond memories for me. For me, the serernity of the place was just perfect. The lodge itself is rustic with a rather old world charm. It feels like it was put up during the colonial times and looked a little worn while we were there but that may be part of its charm. A favourite base for those embarking and disembarking from Mt. Kenya climbs, the lodge has shared a lot of the memories and experiences of those who have scaled this second-highest mountain in Africa. The service was good and the food wasn't wanting. Naro Moru River Lodge is definitely on my list of places I'd want to go visit again.

DON'T DARE GO HERE!

DON'T DARE GO HERE!

During our stay, a member of staff tried to steal stuff from our room when he thought we'd gone out for dinner. Only we hadn't and we were in the room.

Shocking experience.

Another couple wasn't so lucky and lost electronics and car keys. Despite reporting and even talking to the cops, the offending member of staff had not been arrested by the time we left on the third day.

We had to pay one of the guards to stand guard outside our room for us to go for dinner the second night since there was a blackout - and they had no generator.

What's worse, we were unable to talk to the manager the whole time as he was nowhere in sight.

The food is drab, at best.

Go at your own risk.
