i took my Kia soul in for a free recall on the brake lining- the reception staff were friendly and prompt- service was done on-time- BUT...

the mechanic who worked on my car did a overall check-up and listed a lot of maintenance that he said needed to be done at an expense in the thousands of dollars

every repair he said needed to be done was checked over by a mechanical friend and myself- the Kia mechanic was 100% wrong on each one; an example would be the air filter where he sent a photo of a clogged filter BUT it wasnt the one that is in my car ($55); he said i needed a new timing belt as mine was cracked- the belt had NO sign of cracking and looked almost new ($275); said i needed all new tires as i had 5mm of tire tread left (thats still 50% of tread)- i measured with my tread tool and the tires had a range of 6mm to 8mm left
($1 035); said i needed new spark plus, yet my car starts and runs with no sign of misfiring ($416); said i needed a mouse blocker ( $253)- i use mint liquid all over the motor (the mice dont like it and takes me 1 minute to apply if necessary)

i will never take my car to Murray Kia for any maintenance - always check any car shop and dont believe what they say- get a second and third opinion- check you tube for help because its amazing the info you get... FOR FREE
