Great menu and options! Warm and friendly atmosphere. The duck and gratin potatoes dreamy, the crunchy fish wings (as a complimentary Chef's treat) with curry leaves were a delight! Quite a selection on the drinks menu; Good beer choices on tap (McLeod's) , and fantastic cocktails whizzing past. Prompt attention from super-friendly table service on quiet-to-mediumly busy Thursday night, and first plates arrived in 10 mins.
I feel a bit bad about this but they should know.... The food on the plate didn't match what was on the menu. Celery in place of leek is not a great substitution as well as other missing ingredients. The sauce for the squid was at the bottom of the bowl, didn't know it was there until half the squid was gone and it was yum. Better to make an early booking as it tends to take a while for the food to come out. Cocktails are terrible (tried two types), hot toddy with no honey???? but the wine list is great.
Went twice with a large group, none us will be back unfortunately. On a positive note, it has beautiful decor. Just don't sit by the window as the sensor driven security light constantly turns on and off which kills the ambiance a bit. Either on or off would be better....

I honestly cant recommend the High Tea highly enough. Being from the UK and being a huge fan of high tea i'm a tough customer to please but Moxie it was perfect!
Not only was the food and tea really delicious, super fresh and tasty but the whole dining experience was exceptional. The staff were super friendly, welcoming, attentive to whatever we needed and really made us all feel part of the family! The deco is beautiful and with all the little touches to make the whole experience fabulous.
It was my first High Tea in NZ but it defiantly wont be my last at Moxie. Thank you!
I got the takeaway wing deal because it was lockdown and it was awesome. Only eaten in once and the food was good. Great place.
Moxie is a local gem - consistently great food, unintrusive but professional service, a menu that has enough variety to please everyone and good enough value that you can (and should) go back a couple of times a week. Highly, highly recommended.
My wife and I enjoyed a fantastic meal here last night after 5 months of no dining out due to a brand new baby. We weren't disappointed, overindulging in 3 entrees, Beef Wellington and Chocolate Fondant to finish! Thanks to the whole team we slept well last night
These lovely people turn every birthday celebration into something quite extraordinary for my Auckland family. It makes such a change to find attentive service of this calibre. High tea is beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Small bites of heavenly delights. Scones are light and fluffy. Lots of cream and jam. And a great selection of teas. Very nice. We'll keep going back.
Stunning place. The food is delicious and the staff are great. We had the pork belly and the venison as mains with chicken wings to share as an entree. All utterly superb. Even the drinks were great. Will definitely be back and highly recommend you check this treasure out for your self
