FREE MONEY for the OWNER
We went in mid December due to the owner advertising a "magical Christmas" on the local news I found the video on YouTube. We drove 7 hours to come to this place no clear sign where to check in at had to drive around the building a couple of times to figure it out. Parking was awful, we go to the front desk, no welcome, just gives us the key. We go up to the room to be hit with the smell of mold as soon as we open the door, not a good sign of what we will be experiencing .....I start looking around, mold in the bathroom, air vent with dust and I'm guessing mold falling out of it, peeling paint, lumpy bed probably from the 70's just on and on. Well we're tired from the drive and hungry, go downstairs to their on site restaurant to be told we need reservations NOT mentioned at time of booking, we went elsewhere for food due to the long wait. Arrived back and were going to check out the Christmas village, we find a hot chocolate stand, I order hot apple cider to be served warmish apple juice, just a huge disappointment for what was supposed to be a romantic getaway. Next day we wanted to see about the train and carriage rides they advertised...... We're sorry the train is brokek the rest of season, OK well let's try the carriage ride......they wanted another $75 dollars for a 6 minute ride so opted not to do that. At this point tired of making the best of it we go to the front desk tell them we're checking out early, they don't ask why just quick to respond there will be no refund for unused night. Beware when booking here so you don't get ripped off too!
