Loved the guided tour. Lots of interesting things to see. I totally enjoyed the tour and it was well worth the money.
I only wish I could've stayed all day and listened to the tour guide's stories about the iconic lable.
If you haven't already been here you need to go! Who doesn't LOVE Motown!
Very excited to have finally visit this historic place and important part of music history. I cannot wait for the extension. My only comment is that we not allowed to take any photos inside and the tour even the host is lovely, I hate guided tours. But I knew this would happen. Hope that in the future they also provide none guided tours and photos taken. Definitely recommend visiting tho.
The museum is a must-see for anyone visiting Detroit. It is very worthwhile to enter this time tunnel and learn a little more about Motown and about R&B and soul music.
What a disappointment it was closed and no notifications at all
You must go! What a gem. Our tour guide was hillarious. I did not expect the magnitude of history in those walls. Truly an amazing experience.
What a fantastic museum! Although definitely understated from the outside, it opens up the moment that you step through the door! Chock-full of priceless pictures and artifacts, it is a true honor to get to be so near! Our tour guide was wonderfully knowledgeable, what a lovely site.
Very nice museum. Wasn't open to the public but it's very nice what u can see
Loved the tour, learned a lot and Yasmin was very entertaining
If you are ever in the Motor City you must visit the Motown museum. The tour guide Tanisha was great and extremely knowable and the gift shop is awesome!!!!
Had to stay with the group and couldn't take pictures
Fantastic tour, great guide, not to be missed if you're in Detroit
If you re a fan of music history, the Motown Museum is the place to go. The tour guides are incredible and highly engaging, and the tour itself is spectacular, taking you on an educational journey through the history of the label. I highly recommend this place to anyone who lives in or is visiting Detroit!
A wonderful experience! So much interesting information I never knew. It's a guided tour. Our guide was fun and knowledgeable. I highly recommend it.
Detroit. The Motor City. Home Motown! Be sure to schedule a tour. Gift shop open to all.
It was a nice experience. Smaller than I pictured, but still nice.
In a bad neighborhood but worth it to get a few pictures of the house. Unfortunately only got to see the gift shop since at 2pm a sign was posted saying no more tours for the day. Guess it s really popular. If you want to go best to buy your tickets in advance online and don t expect to go and just get in.
This place is beautiful... Very interesting.. I seen others come through from different cities..
On a trip down there was able to review a splash of Motown.Awesome place, great displays & friendly staff. Will return.Worth a second visit.
The tour was sold out so we didn't get a chance to view the inside. I wanted to go in so bad. If you're in Detroit and you would like to go to Motown you have to book your tickets really early if not you will not be able to view the museum.
Our tour guide Jordan was awesome! Learned more than I thought I would. Worth a visit for any fan of music!
The genuine history you feel when you visit this ,is indescribable...
I was always hooked on oldies !R&B... Loving the sounds of Motown , Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, The Temptations and Stevie Wonder to name a few... No record lable ever can compare to the hit making machine of motown . Although it was a few years back when i visited everything is exactly like it was as if it were still in use. The tour began in a room where a film was shown about the history of motown. Then we were given a tour of the recording studio and upstairs was Berry Gordys house, just as it looked when he used to live there. Also some famous memorabilia in glass cases, at the end of our visit the gift shop. Defently a must see when in Detroit..
Excellent tour guides. Very informative. All-around great tour!
To be in the Studio were all the Motown songs were recorded that I grew up listening too was Truly an Honor. Music has been one of two constants in my LIFE. SPIRITUALITY and MUSIC have been my Constant Companion. Thank you Berry Gordy and the MOTOWN FAMILY. LOVE YOU ALL.
This place was phenomenal! Our tour guide was absolutely amazing and extremely knowledgeable and friendly! It was so much history! How it's made us feel as if we were actually there during the Motown era...!
Wonderful history on this tour. Carolyn was a phenomenal tour guide and very knowledgeable. I especially enjoyed the studio at the end of the tour. Staff was courteous from arrival to exit. Very good with Covid safety procedures. We had a great time.
Historic location Detroit City. Everyone from Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, The Temptations, The Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and plenty of more
A nice little journey back through time to the origins of some of the best musicians of all time.
To stand in the studio where so many iconic artists recorded their early hits is a moving experience. A small museum telling a big story. Great guide told the Berry Gordy & Motown story with passion and energy.
This is a visit you must visit if you have an appreciation for oldies and good music. Since it's in a residential type area, so parking is a little tricky, but not bad.
It's the best place to go In Detroit.when I visited.
Today was free general admission day.. It was set up poorly because everyone that went there was not allowed entrance.. They simply should have just let everyone in and out in an orderly fashion til closing period. ( For example.. 10 or 20 people at a time could have gone in and out all day til closing. ) WE SHOULD NOT HAD TO HAVE NO NUMBERS, COLORS, WRISTBANDS, NO NOTHING...
The museum was amazing and tour was a lot of fun. You get so much history in a small amount of space and the guide made it truly memorable.
My experience here was made by our exceptionally warm, funny and knowledgeable guide. I wish I could remember his name (it was Saturday Feb 2 and he has been working there for 6 years). Learn all about the creation of the Motown legend and stand in the studio where your favorite music was recorded. My favorite museum in Detroit.
Parked free on the street, good admission price, great guide! Learned a lot. Had a great visit.
I am so thankful that my mom and I went to tour Motown Museum. It felt great being surrounded by musical history. I felt the presence of all the musicians who visit and recorded at Studio A at Motown. Make sure you go and visit if you are in the Detroit area.
Great experience! A trip down memory lane for those who haven't seen this yet.
Great visit, love the history and of course the music. Our tour guide Jordan was wonderful!
This place was amazing! Grew up listening to Motown and had this on the bucket list. I was so glad I did it. Worth every dime. This recording label delivered more than music. It delivered a message and the tour guide put it in perspective. Thank you Jordan. When we met i thought id be schooling you. Thank you for educating me. Awesome stories you told. The staff was super friendly so props to the management. You have a awesome team. There is alot of Detroit luv in this house.
I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit during the 60 s and 70 s. Visited Motown for the first time ever November 2016. It s a must visit for everyone, over and over.
This place is timeless! In addition to having so much wonderful history, this place is super fun. It's a must for motown music lovers.
Looking for some history while enjoying Detroit...this place is amazing packed with so much history of the Motown movement. Visit here!
The Motown Museum is a must see in Detroit for both residents and visitors. Berry Gordy accomplished so much in so little time with a small amount of money, a lot of work and incredible vision. But, don't let me tell you the story, hear the incredible history for yourself. The staff of the Motown Museum are excellent, the tour guides very knowledgeable, the memorabilia and experience is well worth the price of admission. I've met people who have come here from all over the world.
Our tour guide Yvonne was amazing. Just wish we had a little more time to look at the pictures are artifacts ourselves
We enjoyed the tour first time visiting here in town for family reunion
The museum tour is guided and takes approximately 1 hour. The ticket costs 15 dollars per adult. It is worth the visit for anyone in Detroit!
It's small and guided tour only, on 1/2 hr schedules, but it is awesome. Web site says no cell phones but almost everyone kept theirs they just don't allow pictures although our guide did let people take pics of just one area.
Best to book online. Got there and they were sold out for the day.
Great Museum. Tour Guide was wonderful. Must see, if in Detroit.
Legendary place, well promoted, would benefit from more hands-on activities.
Fabulous history great tour and to stand in the actual studio where all Motown was recorded is simply awe inspiring!
If you like music, how could you not like this place.
WOW!! Our tour guide Carolyn was SO GOOD. This tour really takes you back to that time. Loved the video. So glad we are given the opportunity to experience this. Thank you Mr. Gordy!
Awesome slice of American history and part of what makes Detroit Great, great people, educational and fun and a must for music fans. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. And the people that work there really care and are awesome
We came from Indiana to see the museum and was very impressed with our tour guide! She was fun and had a lot of character. Her free ticket stories and knowledge of Motown was phenomenal! Thank for your hospitality!
A wonderful walk through American musical and business history
The guide was amazing and first time here with some guests out of town I have to say I am impressed and adding it to the stops whenever we have visitors that know about the music history of Detroit.
A must see if you appreciate motown and all the history behind it!
