Motown Cafe Review

This is a hidden gem. I have eaten here over the years and have always had a good experience. The food is always tasty with generous portions. It's good to have a neighborhood restaurant Were you can visit set now and enjoy a good meal.

First time there and I was impressed with the quality of food for the price. It was a little whole in the wall restaurant that surpassed my expectations on food. Portions are generous as well! I d recommend when you just need a quick convenient bite.

Family oriented.... Greet you at the door with a smile.... Quick service... Their Cobb salad is delicious and they give you a nice size portion of food... The salad was fresh, the grilled chicken was perfect ,not over done, a little warm. I took over half the salad home...

I just recieved my broccoli and swiss omelet with hashbrowns and toast. The broccoli was burned and there was barely any cheese. Completely unacceptable. You literally just took my money, my meal went straight to the trash and my offive smells of burnt broccoli. Never again

Girl who answers the phone has horrible customer service. It's expected dealing with anything from Detroit though. Get Keisha off the phone and put Kelly on the phone. Then they dont deliver to Warren but when I called and asked they did. Take REKEISHA off the phone!...that's down the street... .

My new favorite restaurant. Good food , kind staff, and not a long waiting time for the food. The food is so good, I try something different on the menu every time.

Place smells very moldy. None of the staff including the waitress, cranky old lady that watches soap operas and gives the a dirty look or the cook wear their masks. Danger of Coronavirus is very high here considering the stink, they must not clean, and Noone wearing masks that work there. Oh also, they pay to have bad reviews removed from their ratings, this is my second review. I will continue to add this review everytime they take it down. Avoid at all costs.

Food is still good but not like from the previous owner.

Motown Cafe and grill is always good for breakfast but, it seems that there prices have gone up somewhat but, I did notice that they were doing some improvements on the building in the community. So maybe, after all building improvements are final they will adjust the prices so that people will be able to afford the food.

They charge for a cup of water... the food was rather blan. It will be a while before I return.

Just a great place: amazing food-whoa, the portions! The quality. Very impressed. Also, very welcoming and friendly.

I guess it's a taste buds thing... the salads are awful because the lettuce taste like it's unwashed(?)... the owners are cool... it's an actual diner which is apart of the appeal but it's dated. It's not a Coney island and so, ordering certain foods can be disappointing.

Place was pretty cool nice people working there will definitely bring family next time.

The food is great! Fast, friendly service. The inside needs to be updated but they clean every table that's touched because of covid and they wear masks.

I was impressed how fresh the dishes looked!
I was able to take home the lemon chicken and it was very tasty!
This is a family run establishment for the past 6 years. The mother Luljeta works closely with her 4 daughters, son George and husband Chris. She boasts of amazing and loyal patrons. She will welcome you with a nice and warm smile each and every time. I highly recommend Motown Cafe and Grill to satisfy your appetite!

The usual for a detroit diner, food is low quality and expensive

I had the chicken stir fry. I explained to the lady I never ate here before but I would love to try the stir fry. And a woman waiting for a carry out said get it as well. So it was ok. I would have probably liked it more if the veggies were fresh they are frozen from sams club she said. Im going to back to try one more thing and lets see.

Should have known when I walked in and no one was in the restaurant for lunch that something was wrong. Ordered a ceasar salad w/chicken and the 1st bite felt like I was eating sand. After further inspection, I realized the lettuce had not been washed after seeing dirt on the lettuce. Should have called it a wrap but ordered a bacon cheeseburger that was decent but after a few fries I noticed hair on a french fry. I was no longer hungry. But they still charged me $16 for the burger and 2 stale bun coney dogs. Will not be back EVER!

Clean Place amazing service cool people and the food and rates are as fair as they come.

Because I have been going there since I was little and they never messed up. When you go there get the chicken and shrimp Alfredo it is so good

Motown has BIG plates; the staff is very fast, professional and kind, and everything tastes excellent! This place is a wonderful part of Van Dyke area.

The food was incredible and the staff extremely friendly. I literally haven t been able to eat for months. I had a stroke a few months ago and lost my ability to taste. Nothing tasted good. Even things that I was craving didn t taste good. But I went to this place and ordered a ground beef and cheese omelet it was awesome. I couldn t eat it all and got it to go so I will be able to eat something tonight. Great spot a definite place to visit when visiting Detroit

Chris is going to do his best to make it all right , stay true to your people & they will be good to you.

I really like the food, but the atmosphere was intolerable primarily because it was a very hot and humid day and their central air unit was not working. Otherwise, I would have given them a 5 star rating.

Chris and his wife along with their children are very nice. Each time I visit the food is very delicious and they are always delighted to greet you. Great place, excellent price and delicious food with ample portion per serving.

Best deep fried Turkey chops ever. I love this place

I ordered a Greek chicken salad and this isn't edible. The chicken isn't fresh or hot it's hard and dead. The chicken is cold the salad is warm and they put eggs on it. I tried calling back several times with no response they knew when they made this salad it was the horrible. I wouldn't recommend this establishment to dead people.

They charge for little thing and they don't give you enough to begin with. We didn't get our food at the same time not the fault of the server it was the cook. Food over all was good. To summarize, pretty good food, charge for everything thing that you don't get enough of in the first place and they charge to use credit cards. Servers was nice though.
